My friend, who happens to drive a Jetta VR6, and I were leaving a meeting and heading to grab a bite to eat. He pulled out onto a large street (Fowler leaving USF for the locals) pretty quickly making a right on red and grabbing the far left lane. I followed, but he was way ahead to start.

I kind of take my time in catching up. Cops run rampent around there, and I'm already sitting on a fresh ticket. When I get fairly close I run third to catch up and slam on the brakes to match speed.

He gets on it, and I follow suit pulling away fairly quickly then let off. We do a couple more 3rd gear plays, then we slowed to about 45 mph. We went a bit again. The Roady screams ahead in short order. By this time we are almost to our destination, and I'm just glad we didn't get any unwanted attention.

I know he has exhaust, it sounds good! Of course, I couldn't hear his when racing. I've driven his car, it is pretty slow.

Good kill. How do you like the m5 clutch and ltw flywheel? Did the shark injector have a substantial impact on the performance of your car?

I'd say the clutch is pointless, unless you plan an FI upgrade or extreme NA upgrades.

Sharking rocked! Some people claim little gain, I found it to be my best modification to date.

Yes! She is pure sex. And to an earlier post, VR6s are slow. :stickoutt He's talking about getting some crazy intake manifold and software. That might buy him half a second delay in getting to view my dual exhaust. ;)

I was edged out, just barely (not even a car length) by a 6spd Jetta GLI in my E30. I have a chip, M30 AFM, 17.5lbs injectors, catback, and a hot air intake (:) ) He had exhaust, intake, pullies, SSK, chip, and a pretty good HP advantage. So yeah, VW's are slow unless you go FI.:stickoutt

Turbo VR6's are really the ones to look out for. But that didnt seem to be the case here, so no contest. :)

A stock VR6 (or close to stock) has no chance vs your M Roadster. I guess if you compared price tags that would stand to reason. I have yet to race an M Roadster in my 1.8T
