Well, quick internet search looks like a pretty big house/cabin at Lake Tahoe could be had for around $500 per night. So like if we had 16 people we could book a place like that for 2 days for around $60 each. Maybe a bit more if they up holiday rates. Pretty reasonable, seems to me.

Ok so getting down to the reality of it - if Tahoe is too far and expensive then Big Bear is another possibility. I see 10-person houses/cabins that would rent for 2 nights for around a grand. And if it sleeps 10 then it can surely sleep more with sleeping bags and what-not. So that's around $50 or less per night per person. Not including alcohol and giblet gravy.

If we can get organizaed around something like that, then cool. Otherwise let's just forget the cabin idea and figure out who's house it's gonna be at.

Damn, Big Bear wouldn't work for the NorCal crew. Maybe Mammoth? Mammoth is closer to the NorCal crew than it is to me. I think it would be fair, and the skiing would be better than Big Bear.

See you guys know more about these places than I do. Imo it would be best to find a place that's not a ski resort but is still up in the mountains and secluded and pretty. It would be less in demand and hence less $$. Any ideas?

Kickass ... where is the old house? Also Mammoth?Yes. It has 3 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms, 2 ginormous living rooms, and a bigass dining room. It would be the most awesomest party house ever. Too bad I am a touch wary of hosting such a party at a house that isn't mine.

I havent been up to Mammoth in a few years, a TON has changed, but for anyone familiar with the area, its on Majestic Pines which is down the street from what used to be Chair 15. I think that whole area is now another lodge.

i dont know of many beach places and stuff like that to have it at. but my friend and I are going to UTI in january, so we will be living in a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment. we will be moving out of orange county and into the 909/951 in mid to late january. if it is cool with my roommate, and the number of people who are going to be in attendance, ill see if he is down. ill keep you guys posted. the only bad thing about it is that parking is very limited. it was hard for me to even find a spot for visitor.
