3 am. no other cars around, 2 lanes each way. A red Gto with 2 people pulls up next to me at a light. I look over, and see that he's interested. My horn doesn't work, so we don't get a timed start. After rolling out, and in second gear at 3krpm, I punch it, and he follows suit. My car is screaming so loud, I can't even hear him, and 7k is approaching. I change is very quickly, and wath him do the same, with his rear end going to the left about 1.5 feet. By 70, he has cleared the length of my car, about 7 feet ahead.

We shut it down, and come to another light. This time its first gear roll out of the green. My car pulls like a train, with my shifts only giving a very slight chirp, allowing me to gain a 2 or 3 feet on each shift, but same result. He had the jump, but still pulled better then me, and was 1 cleared car away and in front before shutting it down at 75 or so. I gave him a thumbs up, and pulled a u-turn to go home.

I'm not sure if its the 350 or 400 horse version. I have CAI intake, exhaust, and LTW flywheel. I lost the race, but I was very happy with how I did. He did the gaining in 2nd gear both times, but in 3rd, we were both accelerating equally.

Makes me think about twinscrew, before even fixing my bumper and other small bodywork :)

Wow. You must have a really quick car, because those GTOs are supposed to run below 13 in the 1/4 mile. Nice run.

GTO's are really torquey and also very heavy. They run like high 13's. The 05 Mustang Gt pulls it in the quarter.. Nice run. Im sure it was fun. I raced the 350hp GTO from a 40 punch and pulled him about 3\4 of a car until i topped out at 130. He gained a little from about 120 till 130. I wanna race you car!!! ha.

Yeah its a world of difference. I went from the stock 3:45 (which i broke) to the 3:73LSD. Wow is all i can say. Accelaration is awesome, gas mileage sucks balls though. I would love to see pics of your car..

I'll get some pics later. I'm missing grills, and one corner light. Bumper is all chipped and banged up. Only thing that looks good is the wheels :rofl

you ran a 13.xx with just the stock s52 motor?

Back when i had the bone stock s52 (stock airbox, all 4 cats) and only a supersprint cat back it ran a 13.7@101. Now with the intake, i removed all the cats and resonators, M5 clutch kit and fan delete it ran a 13.4@103. Thats was before the 3:73LSD. I only ran it in the 1\8th after the rearend install and it ran an 8.78@like 80 something. Pulled a 1.97 60ft time on some shitty dunlop's. Im somewhat of an excellent drag racer. (ha) Have you ran your car at a track???

Thats awesome!! Make sure to post the results. Remember its all about your 60ft time. The launch is were its at in drag racing. Nail that and the rest is easy. Good luck!!

He is refering to supercharger.
Damn you guys have all the luck. Only races worth mentioning that i was very proud of was against a mustang cobra. He was so pist he couldnt pull away from me. and another against a fully modded WRX where I broke my motor mount support in half.
I must really suck @ 1320, I cant break into 13's. Maybe its because i'm using stock 318ti flywheel and clutch. This is prior to my HFM mods

They both have duals.. The 350HP GTO's, no hood scoops and both pipes come out on the drivers side. The 400HP GTO's have hood scoops and a pipe on each side of the bumper, the center of the lower bumper says 'GTO'.

The '05 Mustang GT will pull an '04 GTO. The '05 GTO is an entirely different story. They will run with bone stock C5's and '03 Cobras.

It must have been the new 400 hp version i.m.o. bec your car is much faster than mine. I raced a 5.7 liter from a 60 mph roll to 105 in my M3 w/ 3 ppl vs. his two and he pulled veryyy slowly all the way through 3rd(gained no more than a door length) then lost major ground on his 3-4 shift and i pulled infront again.
