Hello ,

I finally got the fuel pump and tried to start my 02. I noticed that when i turned the car over there was a very slight leak from the top of the Kugelfischer fuel injector pump. the leak was right where the 4 allen keys are.

Is this bad news? i took off the fuel lines and it looks like there is gas going to them but i was worried about that ...

does this mean GASP:eek: new fuel injector pump..if so where do get one and how much...

Any advise to seting thsi up would be appreciated. I really do not want to move to carbs. i want to get this going with the Kugelfischer

thanks

Chances are the rubber o-ring seals around those allen head screws are shot. They are still available new. Contact 2002 Haus at 805-541-2002... I know they have them in stock. They are really inexpensive, you should get spares. Should be a cheap fix.

You should contact Bob Murphy at the TII Register. He has all the information on the pump including a DVD and the service/diagnostic manual for the pump from BMW. Once you understand what is in that manual, you can determine about 90% of the problems relatively easy, or a mechanic can with the right knowledge of that book. http://www.thetiiregister.com

Thanks... glad to be of some help. As far as the filter, I don't recall, but here is an easier part number: get the filter for the 1991 318is E30 3 series, it's the same filter. About $15 US in any chain auto parts store.
