I replaced my old rusty Stromung exhaust with a stainless steel, free flowing cat back system on my 85 black 535i. The difference was incredible. It made me realize how loud and annoying my old system was. It had a decent sound but because of the rust holes and of how loud it was it really blocked out the good things. After driving and hearing the Stebro system it brought out the engine hum motor sound so much more. Just reving it up in neutral i swear it sounded like a ferrari. (They do produce them for ferrari and mazerati as stock exhausts). Then when i drove, it it was really quiet at idle and low RPM's but as you accelerate hard at high RPM's it's as i said ferrari like high end growl. I reccomend this exhaust to anyone who needs to replace their's and it was quite affordable compared to other free flow replacements. I called at the end of the month and they had lowered the price from around $800 without shipping to $600 w. shipping for the exhaust and resonator. Stainless steel as afore mentioned, looks great, sounds great, overall best choice i've made on this car so far.

What does it sound like? Does it have a low "european" tone or a higher tone? Are the tips stainless? The reason for all the questions is that I'm looking for an exhaust for my e28 m5.
