ok well heres the case. My dad has an E30 M3, he's went around in the past asking people if he could install a cd changer in the back or wherever and the people always said no because it would take alot of rewiring? But he recently found this manual in his glove compartment about how his radio is cd-changer ready? We called BMW but they say they don't have any info. on this because it is outdated or wat not.. just wondering if you guys out there have had experince with this?? and whether u have done it to ur e30 M3?

I have a cd changer in my E30 M3, it was in there from the PO but works awsome. Its wired to an aftermarket headunit (Kenwood) with a Kenwood cd changer. You might find more info on s14.net using the search option, I believe I have read about it there.

The headunit is able to accept/control a changer, but it is not pre-wired for it. The cable would have to be run, which isn't TOO hard, but it sounds like the shop didn't want to do it more than anything else. It is pretty easy to do, if you get the right type of changer. IIRC there are some aftermarket changers that can be used with the factory headunit, if the BMW one proves too hard to find.

exactly. If you have changer controls, you just need to find out if your factory deck is alpine or pioneer. (Mine was pioneer and used the CDXM30 changer) You can find the old changers on ebay. All you need to do is run power and ground to the unit, then run the cable up to the front of the car and plug into the back of the deck.
