I bought a BMW business CD headunit from a guy on the forum. We thought it was a CD43. It was from an Mcoupe.

Is this the correct head unit? Will it work in my 97 E36 with HK sound system?
Is it as good as the CD43? Is it worth the same amount of money?

It's a CD43; I have one just like it. It should plug right into your car.

It is CD43 because it made by Blaupunkt.

Yeah, it's a CD43.

Awesome stereo, it's the best match for an E36 interior.

PS: It seems to be missing one of the tabs.

yeah I noticed the tab. What can I do about that? Can I transplant the one from my crappy C33 HU?

I never bothered to replace the tabs that were missing from mine. My husband had the great idea to cut short pieces of black 1/4" wire sheathing and stuff them into the holes to fill the space. It looks pretty good.

bump this old thread up!

Are there replacement tabs available, for those of us who bought units with missing tabs? TIA!
