View Full Version : October update on my2002tii.com
my2002tii 11-15-2005, 12:46 PM Just a note to let you all know I posted some new updates to my site about headliner and sunroof.
I'm in the process of writing a Sunroof tell-all that I'll be sharing on the site when its done... based on what I've learned, I'm up to 17 pages so far, it's about half done now. I should finish it by month's end.
Since Friday, the traffic to the site has been high - I had about 1,600 visitors (no telling how many hits that is) in the last 3 days...

rns7602 11-15-2005, 02:22 PM Keith,
Is it possible to add a search engine to your site? There is such a wealth of information and it is very time consuming to revisit specific topics if they are not bookmarked or written down by the visitor. I was attempting to put my bumper back on and was looking for your big to shortie conversion and spent close to an hour looking for it before I gave up.
I don't mean to create more work for you but many will attest to your site being the main resource for their restoration/rebuild efforts. As I stated before, your in depth chronicles of Stella's restoration has enabled the successful and timely transformation of my car.
Much respect,
rns

PS here is a search for bumper conversion

my2002tii 11-15-2005, 04:43 PM With the current platform that I'm on I can't have a very good search. I tried about 2 years ago, but the server will not handle it very well.
You can use Google to do an advance search and restrict the results to my domain, such as this example - type it into the regular Google search engine
euro bumpers : my2002tii.com
It does a much better job than I can.
I've not done an article on short bumper conversion, only euro conversion, which is probably why you didn't find anything.
Drop me a line or post here if you are looking, I'm happy to point it out.
When the car is done, I have some other plans for reorganizing the content to make it more usable. Right now I spend the majority of the time just working on the car and taking photos along the way :)
rns7602 11-15-2005, 05:48 PM Sorry, when I said short, I meant euro. Big is big, it don't matter if they are shaved =) Thanks for the info guys and as always, your willingness to assist Keith.
my2002tii 11-15-2005, 05:53 PM Sure... definately understand... In that case:
September 2002 is what you are looking for:

rns7602 11-15-2005, 09:02 PM My bodyman cut the slit too far in and the brackets now fall into the middle of the tube. I am thinking I might have to cut the "slits" into "boxes." I tried to mount the bumper this weekend and to say it did not line up is an understatement (as a result of the play of the bracket and bolt in the tube).
Anyway, I would love to see the mounting of your front bumper. I have not seen a continuation of the September 2002 write-up. So, any images you have of the correct mounting would be helpful .
Thanks!
Roger
my2002tii 11-15-2005, 10:25 PM I am actually about to finish the front bumper project and all the bumpers within the next few days. I should have a write up shortly thereafter... does this help you at all?

cheechthechi 11-16-2005, 01:08 AM Stella keeps on looking finer everyday, you're site has helped my alot with sophia, my 2002.
rns7602 11-16-2005, 01:54 PM It sure does help! Thanks, I was trying to go with only one bolt, the one closer to the engine bolt -- the other hole wasn't even opened up. Although, I did feel the factory indentation. I am going to have a fine time getting at it; I will have to remove the radiator so as not to create more expense.
Thanks for the picture, I thought both were supposed to go to the inside of the tube. I guess a picture is worth a thousand words.

my2002tii 11-16-2005, 02:10 PM Ok, cool.. here's the other side before I drilled the holes. I'm quite sure you want two M10 bolts going through the holes to be sure the bumper is not only strong but safe in case of an accident. One bolt will not cut it.
