Yes indeed. I told them what we found, they took the car, and then called me a few hourse later to say "its reading and I owe $116 with tax." I was like um did you hear about what I found when I was doing the RTAB work that I told to the guy that checked my car in. He said "yeah that stinks." I said there could only be two reasons that those bolts were lose: the threads were stripped and they weren't, or the person who did the alignment, you guys, did not torque everything to spec. I said "I was driving around for 4 months with trail arms that could just have popped off at any time which was a danger to myself and others on the road, and could also be the reason for the premature wear in RTAB's (highly unlikely but added effect to my point) and you want me to pay for an alignment. He then asked me if I kept my car outside or inside. I said outside and then he actually was dumb enough to say, "maybe someone was messing with your car." I said "are you kidding me. Give me a break." I said regardless of the RTAB work, the car was out of alignment and you would have had to fix it anyway. He said "I guess I could talk to the service manager." I said "yeah that would be nice." The called me back 20 mins later and said they would cover the full thing, but to please next time I found a problem like that to call them immidiately and they would come tow the car back to West German and fix the problem, and to also bring them the worn RTAB's. I said sure. Overall I guess their used to dealing with rich dumbasses, but I didn't have to haggle to much about the issue with them. Besides just not comping it right away to begin with and the dumb comment about someone messing with it, they pretty much sucked it up and didn't give me to much grief.

And I must say the car handles ten times better. Its way better then when I bought it at 46,000 miles (now 58,000). The back end just feels so much more solid and under hard acceleration and high speeds it just feels like its stuck to the road. I think the GC shims are a must for anyone replacing their rtabs or those who have good ones and want to improve the handling a bit.

glad you got it all worked out. DO you still need the worn RTAB's? I might still have them in the garage.

Naw you can chuck them. I've already gotten my car back. No need to mess with the subject any further with them.

By the way. Thanks again for all the help. Let me know next time you guys all get together. It was funning hanging out with you all. I should have my full euro intake with the euro 3.5" MAF and JimC antiknock chip (since I have a higher compression motor that pings), installed by then (probably by Thanksgiving). Should be a nice little boost in power.

he was going to come to my house but I was only available last night and he couldn't make it. I think he's going to the KOP meet this weekend and will get measurements from someone's M3 at that.

fair enough. The battery is getting yanks, and fluids topped off, and she's getting wrapped up either Sat or Sun morning. :bluecry1
