Well, I did the search, tons of referrals in Baltimore and areas far outside the beltway, just wondering if anyone has used a shop closer in, like Rockville, or close in NoVa.

I need to get a dent taken out of the E30 M3 and while I'm at it have some parts repainted. I took it to Zamoras who I think does the best work for the money but they really were hesitant on taking the car. It would seem like alot of these collision shops don't like non insurance cars, meaning they like easy in easy out. I know Kurtz used to be a more "enthusiasts" body shop but I hear they are out of business.

Any others ?

Wagonwerks in Arlington does excellent work. Recommend them highly.

Don't know any good body shops in DC.

Try Mastercrafters in Rockville. They do a lot of BMW's and have done very good work for me in the past.

thanks garrett, I'll give mastercrafters a call.

From what I read, wagonwerks will be to expensive though I might go get an estimate from them anyway.

They'll charge you like $50 for an estimate... it's their way of getting you to go through them. Its credited towards your bill.

I am having a VERY bad experience with Wagon Werks right now. I think there quality has dropped since opening the new shop.

My car went in after being pelted by rocks from a dump truck. WW painted the hood, kidneys, grill bezel, and replaced the windshield. This work looked good, but, while I was inspecting my car for pick-up, I noticed that the corner lights were not securely fastened.

It turns out that the runners on both of my Bosch headlights were broken, and the corners had been wedged in place. Of course, this would not have held up over driving. To make matters worse, someone had trimmed down the rubber 'molding' that surrounds my corner lights, so that they would fit. I also have a baseball sized dent in my passenger-side fender that was not there before my repairs.

Now, I understand that mistakes and accidents happen. However, when I brought the above issues to the tech's attention, I was told that ALL of these conditions were pre-existing. Even though I have pictures of the car immediately before it went into the shop (and they 'forgot' to take the customary photos of my vehicle), it took several phone calls and two visits to the shop to get them to accept any responsibility. Even then, it was "I guess we'll have to fix it."

This was over two weeks ago. My car is still dented, and my corners are held in place by WW-supplied zip ties. LOL. I have received ZERO help from the shop, with the tech asking me to supply part number, etc.

I'm not sure if the shop is expanding to quickly, overloaded, or has a few bad employees, but this is not how a reputable shop should be doing business.

Mastercrafters in Rockville. Not too easy to find, but beautiful work on both my E30 and M coupe.

I never had to pay for an estimate; something new? I dunno. Paint work was exceptional, and price not out of line.

Best,

I have to second Mastercrafters, they never did any work for me, but I've seen their work...very good indeed.
