View Full Version : E21 carpets almost ready for sale....
Al Canuck 11-14-2005, 01:56 AM We've been working like mad to get these E21 carpet set patterns completed, and they're nearlyu done now. Thought I'd post up a pic or 2 so you can get an idea what they're going to look like. This has not been glued into my car, it's just loose. I'm not using black in mine, either.

BARRY E36 M325 11-14-2005, 04:18 AM I kinda like the black interior though. But I guess it might look a little like Matt's if you have the red w/ black interior and basketweave wheels. Kinda.:dunno
HarryPR 11-14-2005, 07:14 AM Very nice, Al!
jjgbmw323 11-14-2005, 09:32 AM Ok.

Michael Avedis 11-15-2005, 01:37 PM will this set have the kick panels where the speakers are?
How about a rear shelf?
How much?
might you also have extra material for the rear , where the rear set was?
Michael Avedis 11-15-2005, 01:40 PM Is that a seperate piece at the base of the doors or is it all one piece?

From what I understand its just like the factory, there are two pieces, one large piece up front, one smaller piece in the rear.
The smaller piece buts up against the rear seat.
Al also offers a rear seat carpeting kit. I am not sure if its ready yet for the 323i but it will be comming soon.
I repholstered my rear speaker deck in black carpeting. Cost me a 100 bucks.
later,

fullswing 11-15-2005, 02:41 PM Nice work, Al! Looking forward to it.
Al Canuck 11-15-2005, 03:29 PM Thanks Guys.
Joe, they are not a 2 piece like the factory. I've been going out of my way since day 1 to let you, and everyone else know that! Not sure why you thought that, buddy! They are 14 piece, like the 2002 factory sets. They ARE the correct type of carpet, just in many pieces.
Michael, yes, it has kick panels as well. The holes will need to be cut after install for the speakers though. Rear shelf would be extra, but it could sure be done. Cost is $249 in nylon loop for the basic set, and any extras would be extra, of course. We will have a rear seat delete kit available in the near future, yes. I already make one for the 2002, and the E9. Currently, we're completing a pattern for the E30 M3 as well.

jjgbmw323 11-15-2005, 03:52 PM Well I spaced that.
In any event I would like to see more pics.
I am down for a nylon black set.
Al Canuck 11-15-2005, 03:56 PM No worries Joe. In reality, the multi piece kits are easier to install, fir better, and are certainly easier to maintain in the long run. Should something happen to a particular piece of carpet, it can always be replaced, rather than the entire carpet. I think auto manufacturers know this as well, but it's easier for them to stamp out moulded sets, rather than sew all the binding on the multi piece sets. Here's a good picture that shows one of my wool square weave 15 piece sets in a 76 2002.

I'll have more pics of the E21 carpets as we move along. At this point, I need someone with a left hand drive E21 to come by so I can figure out where to put the heel pad!

jakeyb 11-15-2005, 05:13 PM So do you actually have a kit for the 320i for sale right now? Or arethe 323's and 320's different? I would like to order a standard nylon loop carpet set for my 1979 320i and those look great.
Al Canuck 11-15-2005, 05:16 PM 320 and 323 are the same. The only difference with mine is the steering is on the wrong side! That's why I need to look at a LHD car for reference. I've got 1 set already sold and paid for, it will just be a couple more weeks before I can ship it out.

jakeyb 11-15-2005, 06:02 PM So when/where can I order mine for my car? How long is the wait for these things? Do you also have the rear seat delete kit for the 320i?

So Al, under the front pedals is one piece correct? And in the passenger foot area is a different section??
I would like to see where the most activity is how the carpeting kit works,
thanks

|guanA 11-28-2005, 02:38 AM How much are these? and where are you located? Would shipping to Sydney Australia be possible?
dmanb55 11-28-2005, 02:56 AM Hey Al, I'm interested in one of these kits as I tried to install carpet when I put Camaro bucket seats in my car and it looks terrible. What is the availability of these kits and pricing? I would be looking for black.
Al Canuck 11-28-2005, 03:09 AM Hey Guys,
We're just putting the final touches on the first left hand drive sets this week. I have a client coming by with a NA spec 320i so I can measure where to put the heel pad, being as mine is RHD, I need to use a different car.
Pricing is $249USD in nylon loop, and $569USD in wool. Shipping to Australia is no big deal, we do it all the time.

Jmabarone 11-28-2005, 05:16 PM wow, 250 isn't bad for an entire new carpet set, looks nice Al.
