So there is leak in my engine that is letting the anti-freeze out of my car... I Found the general location of the leak.... Its right above the oil pan on the driver side, I can't see the exact spot because there is so much stuff in the way... The location, if your standing on the driver side looking at the engine, where the air intake is, the leak is right next to where the air intake connects to the engine.... The engine can't keep the coolant at all now.

On another note, looking around, I found that my oil pan has a hole in the top part of it, a small tiny hole, but I saw oil bubbling in very very tiny amounts in it. Like the size of a small tac. But I think that is what my oil pressure problem is.... SO I am going to purchace an oil pan...

Any ideas about the anti-freeze leak?

I would buy a used oil pan from 2002ad.com or bavarian engine exchange, or have someone weld the hole in your oil pan. A hole will not cause an oil pressure problem but could cause a vacuum leak and an entry point for dirt/water contamination.

The anti freeze leak sounds like its coming from a tube or hose under the intake manifold. There is a metal tube that runs the length of the block from the water pump back to the heater valve/heater core hoses, just above the starter motor. IIRC, there is also a T off of this tube that goes up into the throttle body to heat the intake. I haven't been in there on my motor for years, so I don't remember everything.

Well, you were right... lol. Its a hosing that comes off the metal tube, and from there it connects to the bottom of the exhaust manifold... Anyway, I can't find this hose on bavauto.com or anywhere so far... Any ideas?

unless you've ever had a frozen throttle body in the winter months, just bypass that throttle body coolant passage.
pick up a couple feet of the appropriate size coolant hose from your local parts store & go from that T-nipple on that coolant pipe to the other nipple (towards the rear of the engine block)

So it doesn't need to be the exact shape? I have never had it freeze before. But it does get below 30 degrees sometimes in the winter... YOu think that might mess it up?

I dont know how well the hose and coolant actually work in that situation as I am from So Cal. But you being from where you are, I would replace it back to stock and not bybass the TB.

just take the old hose to any parts store and buy a replacement, it doesn't need to be an exact shape. Just tell the guy it is for coolant so they don't sell you the fuel injection hose, which costs more..... I replaced mine with 2 new hose clamps for less than 5 bucks at the parts store

just be prepared to curse some, as the hose gets stuck to the metal piping and gets hard to remove. also some times the hose clamps are in weird angles so you might want to be creative to loosen them up......

lol, I got the part off one side. Its stuck to the metal piping... It completly broke right there so there is a small chunk of hose and the clamp, and the clamp is rusted and wont turn... Damn thing.

Try to pry it off with a big flat head screw driver. Or if you can find a dremel with a hand extention, you could have a go at the clamp.

yeah, I was trying that today. But it got dark, freaking winter time and non-daylight saving... Its dark by 4:30 here.

AHHHH, I just about ripped my hand off trying to get that rusted hose clamp off, its stuck good. I tried to snip it off with wire cutters, no luck. Tried to pry... no luck... Im just about out of Ideas...

and also, the other side isn't fully off, its got some dried hose on it, but its so hard to get to. I dunno how to get the stuff off that stuck on there..

and I do have the new hose, I just need to be able to put it on!

Sweet!!!

I did it, oh oh I did it did it... I got smaller wire cutters and cut that sucker up. Then the hardened hosing was easy to rip off... Yeah, thanks for helping me find the leak. I dunno if I would still have this car if it wasn't for your guys' help!
