I was curious if this will work on the Mini Cooper S Supercharger. i would prevent heat soak and allow for increased boost levels. Any input would be great.

Hmmm :az: sounds interesting. Someone should look into this!

in theory WI injection will do that for any FI car.. It will definitely help with heatsoak.. but then u will be working on a brand new car.. If Mini saw u installed water injection.. they would definitely kill ur warranty on the motor.

WI can help, I guess I'm just wondering if the Mini really needs it with it's set up? I mean, it's not like you have to worry about detonation, etc. I suppose if you were gonna play with the pulleys and go for more boost, WI could help, cuz like Willy touched on, at that point, your warranty is toast...

Well, it's already been discovered that cooler intake air gives the Cooper S BIG bhp-gains, so I'm betting water injection would make a substantial difference in the motor's behavior.

Define "substantial" by simply adding WI to the stock set up...?

I'm guessing maybe 5-10 rwhp, at most, if you're lucky, and only on a hot/humid day, at best....

Hmmmm I don't know. I dont' have enough experience with FI to have the slightest idea. I was really surprised that cool air to the intake provided such a gain on a 1.6L engine, so I woudl expect further temp reduction and density adjustments to provide "significant" improvement.

Well, I did a little research and someone talked to a big mini tech guy, and this is what was said, "The 1.6L supercharged engine runs cool as is,"... "this engine isn't even running its full potential"..."we are even thinking of making a 2.0L version off of the same block, and playing with the boost."

If only warranties couldn't be voided so easily. Well it is a new car and the first day the warranty goes, I am going to go all out!

Willy, are you getting rid of the Saturn and getting the Cooper S??

I wish I could but I still owe too much on the Saturn right now.. in a few years I will. :)

i highly doubt any engine modifications will result in an increase of any rwhp

Just wait for AA to drop a turbo with a big intercooler and alcohol injection. It just a thought.

Why would AA turbocharge a car that comes from the factory with a sc?
