DF&DD '05 is now scheduled to take place at Auto Assetts in Powell, Ohio starting at 10am on Saturday December 3, 2005. We'll get on the ball next year to actually have DF&DD '06 this during the summer, but it should be fun regardless :stickoutt Additional details coming up soon!

Dave,

Nice! Did you trade in the E36 M3? Color combo of the E46?

Dave Dunbar
11-25-2005, 12:13 PM
Yeah...I traded the E36 in. I loved the car, but I've always had a fondness for the E46 M3 and I wanted to get one before they are gone for good.
I got Silver with Red leather, SMG. Take care...Dave

DF&DD is from 10am to 4pm at Auto Assets (http://www.autoassets.com/). Dynos will be ~$50, probably for two or three pulls. There will be a food vendor on site for lunch. Bridgestone has provided give away items (hats, keychains, etc). We'll try to get Redbull to stop by again like they did last year too ;)

Location, click for Mapquest directions:

Will AA be doing AFR's with the Dyno pulls?

I'm not 100% sure on that. I would think that they have the ability to do so, but may charge more.

I confirmed with them, A/F will be available, but at an additional charge based on the amount of additional runs/time required.

It's going really really well. In fact, it may be dropped off to me at DF&DD so I can stick it on the dyno :devillook If it's not done in time, I should have it back early next week. It's spent the last two months in Amherst, OH having the body fitment, paint, interior and exhaust completed.

Who's going to be on hand for Dent removal and what is the charge. Or is this only going to be a dyno event?

I'll be back in the detail bay making money rather than spending it for once so that means the A4 will be out not the M3. Maybe my wife will bring up the M3 to show off the snow tires though.

Well...I won't be there officially detailing for the event. Auto Assets brings me in to do their detailing work. I was a sponsor for a couple of the shows earlier in the year, but it's just coincidence that I'm going to be present for this one.

The majority of my customers get Zaino as it's what I built my business with. Enthusiests get their choice of other sealants such as 4* UPP, Wolfgang, Klasse, or no sealant at all and just a coat of P21S paste. Pinnacle Soveran can be added for a slight premium. I've developed my favorite combo's dependant on color and usually people just take my word for it and let me have at it.

Don't come look at the Detailers black Audi...it's almost embarrassing right now and won't be any better by Saturday...the M3 has yet to leave the garage this week though as it's 1/2 finished with it's pre-winter 8 hour long procedure.

I'm sooooooo ready for these dyno runs (See info here (http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?p=5428511#post5428511))!!!

Anyone got any suggestions on washing the car tonight/tomorrow before the meet? Windchill is going to be ~15 deg. all day today and ~23 deg. in the morning. Brrr!

I've got gas heat in my garage and hot/cold water plumbed in too, so I'll be washing my M3 in there tonight :stickoutt

Here's another solution if you've not fortunate enough to have heated water and garage...although a heated garage would still be nice for this approach.

*NOTE* you have to be super anal with this approach as you can damage the paint if you're not washing properly with this technique. With that said I wash my cars in the winter using a product called "Quick and Easy Wash". If the car is heavily saturated I suggest a quarter car wash to get the heavy gunk off of the car then follow this procedure. I really have no other options than this considering neither of my cars has the ground clearance to go through an automatic touchless wash....just ask me how embarrasing it is to be stuck in the machine tracks with a huge line behind you!!!

I've never purchased this locally but you can find it at most RV type stores. Could be worth calling around.

same as it's been all week. Cold, cloudy, with spits of snow here and there just to tick off those with clean cars. Supposed to be this same pattern until Tuesday of next week.

Yup, still down here in cincy, living at home with the rents (M3 has alot to do with that.) I will be up at UD alot more second semester then i was first because im still dating Krogers little sister... :D

As for the SMG, i love it. The car had it on it, so i was kind of forced to buy it....but truthfully, I'm 100% satisfied with no regrets. Drives exactly like a manual, and when im sitting in the god aweful I-71 or I-75 traffic its nice not to get a leg workout. 80millisecond shifts arent so bad either with exception to the tire hop. IM all about meeting up sometime. Doesnt matter the time of year, the M3 has already beared one snow fall (and it was quite the nightmare seeing as I get no traction.) you just let me know, im always game....
