Lets say I find an M3 I like. I checked with my bank and they will finance any vehicle, of any year, at 100%. However, they will only finance no more than Blue Book. So, as an example, lets say I want to buy an M3 that's selling for $12K, they will only finance the NADA/KBB value. I explained to the customer rep that I will never find an M3 for $6k. l

My question is, how would I go about getting my dream car if I can't finance at 100%?
What would you do?
Thanks,
Chris

build your credit up or find a different bank. I can get a loan for a bucket of bolts all the bank knows is that iam good for it. Also ask about a collector loan?? Because its rare maybe their are exeptions

Ok,
Please, someone recommend a bank. Credit is excellent - It has to be due to my TS Clearence. :D

Get a personal loan or a line of credit. Higher interest but is the only way for an old car.

or try your local credit union. They are more liberal in what they will loan for and at lower rates. I know they have gone up since I bought mine, but they had no problem going above blue book on a 10+ year old car with 100% financing (they would even do 103% or whatever it was to cover tax, license etc)

I just got a personal loan for my e30 m3, this allowed me to keep the 318ti that i have been driving for the last 2 years. Granted i got a redic good deal on my car i just got a personal loan for 6000 and have a payment of around 178 a month for three years. perfect for a college student who only works part time. So just go and see how high of a personal loan you can get. The M3 i bought was too old for a car loan.

www.capitaloneautofinance.com They don't care what it is, how old it is, how many miles it has-as long as you meet their criteria for the amount you want to borrow (with a $7500 minimum) you are good to go. You can even go up to 72 months financing if you want. I have used them three times and they can have you the blank check for your purchase by the next day for a $15 fee. No affiliation, but I am a very satisfied customer.

You need to have good credit in order to get TS clearance. Otherwise you'd look like a desperate dude who may or may not sell this nation's secrets for a few bucks. :D

I used capital one auto finance also to buy my 92 mtech cabby. Theres a minimum of about $7k you have to borrow. Other than that, no restrictions on what you buy.
