Over the past several years MPACT has been working with a major silicone hose manufacturer to produce custom intake kits for our cars and customer vehicles. As a part of this development MPACT will now be able to offer a full silicone 4-ply throttle body boot replacement for OBDI TBs to the general public.

It gets rid of the tight bend and rough interior surface of the factory TB boot. This will be a direct-fit part for 95M3s and we will also have a version available that eliminates the need for a Euro HFM adapter.

Initial independent dyno testing was done at Edge Motorworks and gains have been very significant  . Dyno sheets will be posted after we get a few more of these products on customer cars and independent dynos.

Retail pricing for the 3.0" and 3.5" Euro HFM boots will be $229 but special introductory pricing of $199 is available from MPACT for all pre-orders placed before 11/31/05.

We expect to have these on the shelf ready to ship by the end of the month but I wanted to get the news out right away.

Pictures of the final versions should be available on our new website in about a week.

Thanks!

For those of you at the Bavaria Motor Weekend show today, you saw the real deal on a car and on the table. OBDI and II as well as ASC delete hoses. Come on by the Dyno Day next weekend if you are interested, we will have as many as they can make for sale!

Hmm, interesting. If we can ever get our schedules coordinated and get my car towed down to the shop*, I may have to add this to the list of things to do... :)

*Rob, if someone can be there on a Saturday, I can borrow a trailer and get the car down there. Hmm, as I type this I realize you'll be there next Saturday for your grand opening!

Here's the picture off thier site if anyone is interested.

What are the advantages of this component over a standard 90 degree elbow other then being cut to legnth), is it not one a single plane?

The factory flex boot isn't very smooth on the inside. Cut one open and look. The bend is a little more subtle on this piece also. The question is, will all cars need the air. I know our old 3.2 mod motor wanted more air. I cannot believe this piece is finished. We started playing with this thing back when I had my car. That was about 2 years ago. It is actually a part of our complete race kit. We just didn't have time to play with it this season. The guy that made this piece makes all our intake pieces. In between races we just take our car to him and say "we need more power" A few hours later we leave with power. This is only version 1, I am sure by the time winter testing of our new race car is over, we will make even more power. We will need all the power we can get for the road we are going down this season.

I am surprised so many people would just jump on this new product just on the claim that it makes more power and torque. I'd have to see some hard figures before I dump $200 on a rubber boot.

Steve, from my other thread:

And don't forget that this is not a simple single ply piece. This is top quality silicone with 4 plies, 2 bungs, and then of course the non-standard TB OD size (standard 3" is too large) and the 3.5" transition.
