I was pulling out of a parking space last night. My steering wheel made some crazy bumps and noises and Boom! no more steering. I found the shredded plastic coupling on the ground. Does anyone know where to find a new coupling (the flexible plastic dounut kind with 4 bolt holes)? Also any advice on the installation would be appreciated. I've never tackled the steering before. Oh yeah, I have 1975 2002. Thanks

Well I found the part. I guess I just need repair advice. Do I have to remove the upper steering column, or is it as simple as just removing the 4 bolts and sticking the new coupling in?

Is it a steering guibo?

I think so, but i'm not sure. Is the upper coupling the same thing as a guibo. it's a rubber donut about 3/4" thick with 4 bolt holes. it completely ripped out of the car. The upper and lower steering column shafts are still attatched by the 4 bolts, but the steering wheel won't turn the wheels.
