www.thetrackclub.com was at Buttonwillow November 15th and 16th and BMW cars ran for $99 each day.

I didn't make it to the November event but I'll be attending their December event at Buttonwillow Dec 3 thru 5.

There will be 1 car group and 2 motorcycle groups. Plan on eight 20-minute sessions per group both days.

I instructed at their combined event back in August. The Track Club is a growing organization that puts on a quality event.

Anybody else gonna make it?

Sounds like a good deal.

Will it be the full track?

Great price, wish I could make it. I'll probably make the Dec. events.

Yeah, they are running the full configuration with the Bus Stop and Lost Hill. Also, they will use either the Sweeper or the Star Mazda turn (Race #1 or Race #13).

Tuesday is counterclockwise and Wednesday is clockwise.

I first rode motorcycles with the organization back in April of last year. Mark Duncan (the principal) is a great guy.

What is required to run one of these? My car is not ready for these dates, but I expect in the near future I'd like to. Is a Helmet required? Membership with anyone?

Thanks!

Gotta have the Bus-stop!! Thanks for the update.

I might be down for the Dec dates.

Btw, I ran BW with the new extension with speedventures a while back. Any idea if this club will do that too?

A helmet is req'd, but membership is not. Check out the very helpful "First Track Event Tomorrow..Nervous! Words of Wisdom?" thread parked at the top of this forum for your first event.

They are running the original configuration, not to include the new extension.

Sweet. Didn't think I could fit in another car/bike trackday. I'm gonna try to make Wednesday. Can't do Tuesday.
How are the two bike groups split? And the car group is just mixed with all skill levels? Passing rules? Not much info on the website.

Kelly,
Good to hear from you. I plan to make the Dec 3-4 weekend with my M3 and GSXR. Talked to Mark and agreed to help find car/bike people. I'll be doing Laguna with Trackmasters earlier that week. Just did great weekend at Willow with Pantera/Ferrari group. Keep me up to date on your track schedule.

You can drop an email with questions to mark@thetrackclub.com. Here's what I know so far:

Sweet. Didn't think I could fit in another car/bike trackday. I'm gonna try to make Wednesday. Can't do Tuesday.

On Wednesday it looks like the motorcyle groups are sold out and only car slots are left. Car and bike slots are still available Tuesday.

How are the two bike groups split?

According to skill level.

And the car group is just mixed with all skill levels?

Single car group limited to 20 cars, spread over 3 miles of track with On and Off Track instruction.

Passing rules? In the Passing Zones (designated straights) with a point-by.

Keep me up to date on your track schedule.

Shoot Mark an email (mark@thetrackclub.com) and he'll send you a full description of the events. An excerpt:

In November & December. Instead of running three motorcycle groups in 20-minute sessions, we'll run two (2) 20-minute sessions for motorcycles:
Fast (C and B- riders) and Faster (B+ and A riders).

Then, the third session of the day will be one (1) session for track-ready cars.

We're limiting this session to only 20 cars and we will have coaches and basic instruction included--at no extra charge. We will be emphasizing "SAFETY FIRST" and we will be "pacing" all the car drivers and making sure they are practicing safe, yet fun driving technique. This is why we will have reduced numbers of cars on the track and will be monitoring everyone's progress during the day. The Track Club's other perks apply, too, including our famous lunch, and mellow, family-friendly atmosphere.
November 2005

Tuesday, November 15th: We will run (CCW) reverse direction with the Star Mazda-Long Course!

Wednesday, November 16th: We will run (CW) Normal direction with the "Sweeper"-Short Course!

________________________________________
December 2005

Saturday, December 3rd: We will run (CCW) reverse direction with the Sweeper-Short Course!

Sunday, December 4th: We will run (CW) normal direction with the Sweeper-Short Course!

Monday, December 5th: We will run (CCW) reverse direction with the Star Mazda-Long Course!

Still looking for more car participants at Buttonwillow. Anybody up for it?

An Update:

We have two (2) more options a Sunday-December 4th & Monday-December 5th at Buttonwillow raceway!

We are trying out this Sunday to see if it is worth it for us to do cars on that day and than we are also providing a session for you car guys on Monday as well ! But we need sign ups! We thought that you would be interested in one or both of these days since they are attached to a weekend, and you know how we run the days!

So far we have a few BMW's, a VW-R32, an Audi, couple of Mazda's, a MBZ, and a Cross-Fire, we need more cars to make this work, so give us some feedback or get signed up so we have a head count!

We need an idea of if you are truly interested in either of those two days. So if you are . . . please sign up for a reservation so we know if we are actually going to run the car group, we need at least twelve (12) cars to make this happen and if there are not enough cars to support the car session we'll need to convert it to a motorcycle session. we can't run the session with only four cars, so if you are thinking about it, please reserve a spot to let us know!

The weather is continuing to look great through this event, so come back out to join us! please RSVP right away so we can gauge the car attendance for these two dates!

Thanks and we hope you decide to join us again!

Mark,

It said on your website "Italian Car get to drive for $99". So, if I were to put Alfa Romeo logo on my car, then can I drive for $99? I have been saying that I have to go to the track but going to put my foot where my mount is this time. So, it is $150 for Monday Dec 5?

Thanks,

Mack

My bad, I'm not Mark. Drop Mark an email and he'll let you know about the registration fee. I should have stated that mark@thetrackclub.com is HIS email address, not mine.

I'm just helping spread the word about the event.
