View Full Version : Pics of my IP car
VahramHS 11-06-2005, 09:51 PM I finally got the club racing decals put onto the car but I am still waiting for the numbers and letters. Here are a couple pics I just snapped. I'm going to Buttonwillow this next weekend for a little shakedown. :D
Also, thanks to Edge Motorworks for doing a great job on the car! They are really a first rate shop and honest shop.

DDIZZY 11-06-2005, 09:58 PM How is my old car doing? Make sure you put some TC Design stickers on that car. Tony worked really hard on that cage:D Looks good, I miss my old car.

VahramHS 11-06-2005, 10:02 PM Its good, I haven't had it on the track much because of family illness but this coming weekend I'm going to hit the track. If Tony will send me stickers I'll throw them on no problem. I'll give him a ring this week. I could use some Mpact stickers too. ;)
M Rob 11-06-2005, 10:06 PM Is that undercoating still on that interior? :( and please finish painting that cage man, it has been half silver for 2 years now! Glad to see the MPACT OG is coming along :) I'll get some decals out to you this week. PM me your address.
Erik@EDGE 11-06-2005, 10:54 PM Looking good V! Hey where is the driver's door panel? Rob--that cage was painted twice while it was at the shop, damn thing just won't stay painted!

Its painted, Edge just painted it silver like it was before.
Erik, I tok the door panel off on the drivers side because the windows wasn't going up for some reason. It goes up fine with it off but when I put the panel on its not letting it go up? I can't see where it is rubbing anywhere either. Maybe its not letting the door flex enough?
Erik@EDGE 11-06-2005, 11:39 PM Weird, it was working for us, and I assume for you--at least for a while...Hmm, maybe something rattled loose? Maybe the top edge of the panel is contacting the glass? Damn, wish you were closer so we could take a look!
Steve J. 11-06-2005, 11:41 PM I like the shiftknob.
Erik@EDGE 11-06-2005, 11:45 PM Thats oldschool E30 style--since its plastic it won't heat up after 10 laps and burn you through your gloves.
Steve J. 11-06-2005, 11:57 PM Yea, I made some SLick Delrin ones for Rob :)

It will go up about 3 our 4 inches and then gets stopped or stuck. I am going to mess with it a little this week. Hopefully I'll figure it out, those panels really clean everything up.
Erik@EDGE 11-07-2005, 12:01 AM Yeah, the panels are Jim's crowning acheivement, I can't tell you how many hours he had in them.
Steve, I saw Rob's- very nice!
Steve J. 11-07-2005, 12:28 AM Hehe, he got the first one and loved it, so I cranked out two more in a bit of a rush, they still came out really good, but he just had to play a little to mount them to his own liking.
These door panels are a simple thing for someone to mass produce. We can cut several out at a time with the laser cutter at our facility...hmm, someone want to contract some work done, it would be super cheap, and you can sell them for a decent amount. Fairly easy to ship as well :) Anyone interested? Probably would not take more then a day to make several dozen, CNC bent and Laser cut.
Erik@EDGE 11-07-2005, 12:30 AM I dunno that that they are easy, look at the shape on the end of the door, requires some "adjustment" and some tigging
Steve J. 11-07-2005, 12:39 AM Trust me, its easy compared to the work we do. It would be an extremely simple item to mass produce cheaply. Hell, if someone wants to work with me, I can engineer it off hours and use the design for the contract work quote. One of the items they got contracted to do recently is a lexan window mounting system for Vipers. I engineer for a seperate part of the company (four seperate companies part of one parent company, all same location), but I get contracted for some jobs they get.

Dinanify 11-07-2005, 06:25 PM Erik, TonyC had talked to me about something simliar (those door panels).
How much would it run to have those done up and installed? My door panels are currently exposed as well.
ceegeezM3 11-07-2005, 09:13 PM I would be in the market for a passenger side door panel if it looked that nice.
Steve J. 11-07-2005, 10:53 PM If you laser cut one it'll look 10x cleaner, and you can bend it on a brake and it'll look stock..powdercoat it and you are good to go.
bmw1602.com 11-08-2005, 03:57 AM nice car! good luck with the racing!
m3balance 11-08-2005, 06:30 AM Hmmm

Recommendations are a starting point. You have all of that adjustability and you're telling me that you've never bothered to change the settings from the "recommendations" to see if you can find something that works better for you, your car, and your driving style?
VahramHS 11-08-2005, 01:54 PM It is plenty low, I found that if I go lower it doesn't handle any better and it seems like it handles even worse. Either way I am not really worried about it. I am taking the car for a shakedown this weekend so we will see how it feels.
