Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3

What do you think of them compared to:

Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 or Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Pole Position

I'm about to buy some 19x8 and 19x10 DPE rims and from my research and the tire calculator the best tire sizes seem to be 245/35R19 on the front and 265/30R19 on the back.

I'm trying to decide between the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 ($310/$318) and the Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Pole Position ($270), but I don't think the Bridgestones come in a 265/30R17, only a 275/30R17, but I could be wrong. Maybe I should even look into the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 .

I checked out the tire calculator here:

There was an article in one of the latest issue of car and driver (Dec 2005),they did a large test on tires, and the GS-D3 came out on top, over the two that you mentioned. Before you drop the coin maybe you flip through the issue at the supermarket or something. :)

F1's and PS2's are so close that you probably couldn't tell which was on the car from inside. In the dry the F1's have the advantage, but just barely. However in the wet the PS2's are the winner. In my experience the S-03's came in last between those two.

To me the real question, based on promised performance, would be whether to use F1/PS2 or Toyo RA-1's. I haven't looked at tire size availability, but if it came down to a staggered or non-staggered setup (in tire choices) I'd go symetrical if that meant I could use RA-1's.

I've never tried the Michelins; hence I can't comment on them. SO-3's are comparable to the F-1's in the dry but no doubt the F-1's stick like glue in the rain.

In the wet the PS2's and F1's are oh so much better than the S-03's. I'd guess, based on track experience, that the PS2's have at least 75% of their dry traction in the wet. I don't know how the RA-1's would compare.
