So i was looking trough autotrader and saw this m3 priced at $4500. So i emailed seller and response i got was this:
Hello,
Thank you for your message, I am happy to see that you are interested to buy my BMW, and I can let you know that this car was my love ,and I`m sure you will love it after you will see the enclosed photo files.I am trying to find a real fan , a bmw lover, i just want to be sure that the car will be in good hands in the future.The final price for this car is $ 4500 (including shipping and insurance).The the title is clear and it runs and drives great. I will only use www.escrow.com services for this deal, also shipping will be made through DAs , as the e-commerce sites advise. I am using the Internet for selling this car , because being a businessman i`m traveling a lot and I don`t have the time and the resources to sell it in the classical way, I can`t meet all the interested customers just to satisfy their curiosity, and I can`t speak on the phone hours and hours playing the role of my assistant . I have experience in dealing on Internet and I want a fair and classic Internet partnership.
Regards

P.S. Any sales involving ecrow.com and being too good to be true is 99.9% scam. Espeasly if it includes shiping through one of most expensive shipers out there.

I sent him an e-mail, I'm going to tell him I'm local and will come by with cash to pick it up if he tells me where to go, we'll see what he comes back with.

it sucks that people like him have to waste our time.

Someone tried to have me use an escrow service for a superchager kit on ebay. He wouldnt even accecpt paypal, Needless to say it was a scam.

Id never trust someone asking to use an escrow service.

No, wasn't the silverstone one. was a blue one.
i've heard that most of these people that attempt this sort of fraud are overseas...
time to protect pix and vin's, hopefully the autotrader finds a way to stop these people...

He e-mailed me back saying the car was in NeW York. I told him I had friends there and since the car was so cheap we would show up with cash to buy it if we could see it first. I told him if he could do this and it was legit we would buy it, if not than I'll assume he is a scammer and report him to autotrader.com and the internet fraud division of the FBI in Kansas City.
If he's so busy that he has an assistant and can't be bothered with selling a car than how'd he manage to get a bad add and respond to all these e-mails, idiot.

same thing happened to me on a 95 avus blue m3, he was selling it for 3500 and he was in california. i told him id drive out there and get it.

"Hi,
I am glad to hear that you are interested to buy my Bmw.The car is in perfect conditions without any scratches or other mechanical problems.The interior is in like new condition and has never been smoked in.The car is registered in United States and it has clear title.I live in LA.California so the car will be shipped from here.Because the phone lines are down and i wanna deal as soon as possible i am ready to cover the shipping costs and insurance.Since november 2004 i started a new business in LA.California but unfortunately the things didn't work the way i expected and now i really need cash because i am at one step to lose my restaurant from here ,so i decided to sell the car.
The financial part of this deal will be managed by my Square Trade agent. I am very busy, and they will act like a third part in this deal. They will keep the payment until you receive the car and test it.
Anyway, I have to let you know that I want a fast deal so if you are really interested in buying, please reply with the following information:
-Your full name;
-Your shipping address;
The final price is $3500 included the shipping costs.
If you agree with my above terms, I'm sure that we can close the deal as soon as possible.
Thank you for your time and interest!!!"

thats his wonderful message he left me, found it on auto trader, i was like "your crazy, ill drive out there if its for real"
never heard back from him.
