This has been a fun week. The car was out of my shop today for the first time since May of 2004.
This is only the second time the car has been in direct sunlight either, so it's nice to see how all the work has been coming in the "light of day". I think the paint has turned out just awesome.
The car went on the flatbed today to get the headliner put in.

She will be at the shop for the next 10 days or so.

I reassembled the Scheel-Mann seats together today with tops and bottoms. They have turned out well also.

Great update! It's nice to know we have a home-grown competitor to the factory tii build-up. Of course, your build-up provides more to the '02 community.

Nice pics!

Yep, sometimes I feel like I am the BMW 2002 edition of

With just one guy and no TV crew.
HMMM... If I could only get 14 guys to work on my car day and night for a week on a TV show... what kind of progress could I make?

Wow that looks great as usual, I'm sure it would be done faster with 14 guys but it wouldn't look nearly as good. Keep us posted!

Looks incredible as usual, Keith.

What type of headliner are you putting into it?

Al

The OEM one. I bought it and the sunroof patch piece like 3 years ago. I have two new matching OEM visors with mirrors for both passenger and driver, which I got from Germany. They are like butter instead of all crunchy.
I do like your wool headliner Al. Maybe for the next restoration eh?

Nice find on the driver and passenger mirrored visors! I've got a whole ton of visors around here, and I've never seen one.

I wasn't implying anything about the headliner, just curious. In fact, I just took delivery of 3 yards of OEM headliner vinyl for the liner in my 323i. I'm all for stock parts on the right car!

Al, I got them from this guy:
http://www.bmw-interieur.de/
He's on German Ebay. You can email him about the stuff he has for sale. It's like he goes to salvage auctions (assuming they have them over there) because he's sitting on a pile of NOS parts nobody has.

I bought 2 pairs of these things above for safe keeping. You may know some seats that need them.
He has a bunch of interior parts you may need. His name is Peter.

If I hadn't come over your website some 2 years ago, I'm not so sure I'd started my projegt '02turbo. Your well documented work on that car has given me a lot of tips and inspiration.
By the way: I ordered a new headliner and new carpet from a local upholstery guy (don't know what you call them in english). He said the headliner to be finished next week. :)

Ole Christian!

Good to hear from you, I was just reviewing your site the other day and showing a friend your excellent project.

Thanks again for the nice words. Your car is coming along very nicely. Again, I wish you were here to bend some hydraulic brake lines for my car.

Again, yours looks fantastic, the engine work and attention to details are some of the best I have seen.

Keep up the good work - I only hope that we get to meet in person someday. Norway is a long way from Missouri :)
