sparkchaser and myself are going to drive County Road N and Highway 371 and Route A up to St. Joe and back on Sunday. If anyone else wants to come along you are certainly welcome. The early forecast looks nice, 60's and sunny.

Where the three roads, I-435, 152 and County N come together is where we are starting from and will go north from there. Three cars so far and would welcome more. We are going to get started around 10 Sunday.

A co-worker is coming along with his S2000. This would be a good chance to show off your superior Bavarian engineering.

I went for a drive on Hwy N today. Bad news. Part of it is shut down for construction. The detour route sucked.

Thanks for the tip. How much was closed? And where is closed part?

It didn't look like much was closed (maybe just one small bridge) but the way around it was pretty far. Heading north it was closed about half of a mile past Hwy D (which is where the detour starts). I went past the detour to verify that is was actually closed. There was a work crew and several very large pieces of road work equipment.

Also, I'm not overly familiar with the area so I just follwed the detour signs. D to Running Horse road to NW 136 St (I think it was 136th...) and then back onto N.

How far did you do and how were the roads overall?

I was on my way to Weston with my other half tagging along. So, I didn't get to drive too spirited. The roads looked fairly nice though. I took Hwy 45 on the way back. It has some fun parts too.

We did a drive today, but altered the route a little. It was meeting sparkchaser and glad he came along. A co-worker with S2000 was along also.
Started going north on County road N. It is a nice road with some fun corners and couple that are a challenge. After the twisty section we came to the construction and detour. That took us into North Platte where we found 371 north, on the second try.
371 north to St. Joe is a more gentle curving road with some elevation changes. Prior to getting to St. Joe is where we altered our route and went west on 116.
116 west was very enjoyable. Lots of elevation changes and nice turns. However construction caught us again and we were directed off 116 just as the best part was to come. County road HH got us to Rushville, Mo.
From there we proceded west and back to Kansas in Atchison and south on highway 7 to Levenworth.
In Levenworth we drove past the Federal Prison and on the south side of town we joined our localally famous highway 5 south back to town.
Highway 5 was fun as always and always way too short. I think that is the only thing bad about that road, it needs to be at least 10 miles longer.
Anyway a great day for a drive, perfect weather and not too many traffic problems. When the construction is done N and 116 will be worth a do-over.

Sounds like a great time. I live near I29 & Barry Rd, so I've driven N and 45 in the past. I haven't taken the drive in my 325i yet though. Too bad I was at the Chiefs game, I might have joined you.

We were back in time to see most of the game. What a finish, must have been wild in the stands. It's rare to see a team lately go for the win instead of the tie. Have to give credit to Vermiel, it was a gutesy call.

The ride was a blast and I am looking forward to doing it again.
