I just recently had a Nikasil M60 pulled from my E38 (10/95 Build date). We put an M62 with modified timing case covers back in the car. Essentially its an OBDI M62 car now. I was toying with the idea of selling this engine complete with all accessories and belts still intact on the front. I have another engine with more power lined up and wanted to see if I could sell this engine in my car before I pull the trigger on the other V8 (S62/TEC-3R). For any of you Nikasil guys or even Alusil guys with an M60 engine, This could be a prime opportunity for a plug and play 4.4L engine swap. Pop yours out, pop mine in, wire it to your existing OBDI harness, and enjoy the extra power. Motor has approximately 60-70k miles on it and it runs STRONG. M62 from a 98 540i. Timing case gaskets and valve cover gaskets are new. Coming from an original M60 to the new M62 in my car, I can truly say it dramatically transformed my cars power output. Never dyno'ed, but the difference in torque was very noticeable in the drivers seat. Looking for $3500 complete. Want to move fast to make the move on the other engine. Let me know guys. :buttrock

Very rare opportunity. Just ask Jimmy. He did this on his E34 540 S/C. It is a sweet upgrade especially if you have to replace the engine anyway. I just crave more power which is why I am selling it.

SC,

When I replaced my M60 in August, I was tempted to do the same. I contacted Jimmy and the place it was done, S&K here in Sac. I spoke with Stu, the guy who did it, and he said it was a royal PITA.

If you have allready done the modifications to do the complete fitment, then someone should jump on it.

My replacement engine was from 10/95 M60 from a 740, and they have to move stuff too to make it fit, but not as much as the M62.
