I'm so pissed! My car has these tiny little droplets of sticky gunk all over. I have no idea how that got there, but I could not take it off while hand washing it. Can someone recommend next steps? Are there some good products to try and use to take this crap off? I'm getting worried about my paint and want to get this stuff off immediately to avoid staining, or anything worse. A detail shop wants to charge me $250 to take it off... which I have no problem with. But, I want to be first see what y'all recommend....

Try rubbing alcohol/water(50/50) on a small portion using a soft cloth....see if it removes it and you don't scratch the car.

That is pretty much what they are going to do...I like this idea more than a clay bar. Could also try cleaner wax.

Peter, thanks for the tip. Is that completely safe for the paint?

I used WD40 to get rid of some sticky gunk on my car before, and it worked great. However, if you try this, remember to clean it up and re-wax the area when you're done.

Wd-40 works for me, Ive used it to take off the left over adhesive from the stupid dealer sticker. Works great and like Hestola said, remember to re-wax that area.

I would avoid WD-40(just my opinion). Try the water alchohol mix(50/50). That should do the trick. It will NOT harm your paint. Alot people recco using this combo to strip sealants like klasse and zaino as opposed to using abrasive polishes to do the job.
