Ok I need to feel the pedals, my sneakers aren't cutting it.

I wanted to get opinions on shoes, I see so many different brands. Are the Sparco really worth twice a pair of simpsons? Are the higher priced models really that much better? The prices vary some much, can any recommend a place to order from?

Eastbay.com had some Nike "Nascar" racing shoes awhile back. i got a pair and they work pretty good for $20. have you looked at the piloti shoes?

Look for an Adidas outlet store. I found a pair of bright red Sparco low cut driving shoes for $20.00.

I have the Simpson shoes, very comfortable, good feel. Helps if your feet are on the biggish side too.

I'm currently using Simpson's and like them. I've had other brands and I think it is really more a matter of personal preference and fit.

If your not driving/racing in a series or club that requires fire protection you don't need to pay for racing shoes. Try Eastbay.com or any athletic shoe store and pick up a pair of wrestling shoes. I know a few guys who wear these auto-xing and DE'ing. They have a similar look w/o the fire protection and are usually pretty cheap.

I really like the Sparco lowtop shoes. Very comfortable and well worth the $$. IMO, they are the best shoe on the market for use in a "sedan" type racing/track car. Alpine Stars, No Fear, and Stand 21 have some very nice boots as well.
