A guy installed some manual vaders over at S14.net. I can't remember his name, but search threads about seats...there aren't that many.

I'd love to get some manuals, but they are still pretty damn heavy. Power and heated vaders are way too much weight, in my opinion.

Then again, I'm running cf bonnet, sunroof and I'm pulled the a/c out in the spring.

A guy in Hawaii had Vaders in his E30 M3. It looked nice, but I could not find any bolts holding it down in the back. In the front, there was a 2 x 1 steel strap that was an adapter of sorts. The rear seats looked nice!

Sorry, no pics. It was a car I looked at for a friend. It was truly a disaster as he had an E39 grill with eyebrows on the car, E46 gills cut into the fenders and it was a salvage title.

I did manual vaders and heated. I drilled new holes for the front and used a
21 1/2 in piece of steel from Home Depot for the back. You have to get the seats close to the door so it doesn't rub on the center console when it slides.
So line up the seats and mark the front holes, drill the front holes and use a washer and nut on the bottom of the car.Now with the seat in use the steel piece and mark the holes where the original holes are. Drill out those holes in the steel and use the original bolts to secure them. Next place the rear or the brackets onto the steel and have it welded to the steel. Make sure the seat slides without a problem.
The piece the holds the seatbelt has to be modified and you can use either the bolt that holds the seat in place or the original hole that secured that seatbelt bracket.
I'll post pics of mine later today.

Yeah but I don't think its worth it. I'd rather re-cover my rear seats.

mine needs better rear seats ,---so if the vadors have the M stripes the rears would look better with the stripes im i right though

not an e30 M3 but an e30. this was my install of non-power heated vaders

still working on the rears because I'm still waiting on the side bolsters.

I installed some Vaders in my E30 M3. They were pretty comfy and I got a lot of compliments. I thought they were a pain to install. I didn't drill any holes in my car (f*ck that). I made custom steel plates that adapted to the vader from the original stock holes. I ended up switching them out because they were pretty heavy. I am currently running some Sparco Torino II's. Absolutely love 'em.

Vaders, especially powered ones, are really heavy. Recaro SRDs are similar in price and style, weight less, and were used in the Sport Evo models.

Personally I find the SRDs and fixed back seats like the SPG/Evo2/etc to be much more comfortable than the vader seats and much more supportive.

do you still got the adapters from before you switched them out or the instructions on how to fabricate them

I'm not sure how big (tall or wide) you guys are but I find my buddy's stock E30 M3 seats much more supportive then my vaders. I love my vaders, don't get me wrong, but when I sit in his car I feel like they are suction cupping my butt into the seat!:D
How would you wire up Vader heater elements in an E30?

all the powered seats need is 1 power supply plug from the e36 m3 and all the other wires (airbag sensor, etc)are trash.and i have a a plug made to adapte a fuse between the seat and car wireing so i wont have to run it to the fuse box. any questions?
