View Full Version : Need serious help for my son-in-law's E30
EMDII 10-18-2005, 09:30 PM Son-in-law has SNAFU'd his E30 cabrio: sheared studs (yes, someone put studs in the hubs and badly: no cones on the lug nuts) and lousy after-market rims. Anyone have a set of Bottlecap OEM 14"x6" 4-lug wheels in ATL they're dying to loose? If not, does anyone know someplace in ATL where I might find a stash of OEM that'll fit his 1989.
Serious emergency: he is NOT a gearhead, no matter how hard I try. I need to fix this w/o his intervention or messing around. I just won't put 17" rims on this little looker cause he can't avoid potholes either.
TIA
TED
There are a TON of bottlecaps at either Pull-A-Part location. You could easily get a set for $60.

EMDII 10-19-2005, 09:07 AM Pull-A-Part?
Augusta GA is out in the stix. ATL must be cool to have two.
One is over on Buford Hwy, right?
Thanks Matt!
jokestar 10-19-2005, 10:43 AM i live in the cumming area, i have a set of 4, only 3 centerpieces, but i will be willing to sell for 75, ill take pics when i get home and post them up if youre interested
EDIT: i just read your last part, and you gave him the blessing to be your son-in-law?
One is on Buford highway, the other is just off 285 on the south side of the city. The one off 285 has a better selection of e30s.

EvilClassic 10-19-2005, 06:39 PM does he need an oil pan?
EMDII 10-19-2005, 09:16 PM Pull A Part has NO alloy wheels, None, Nada, Zip.
Finally got a set from Harold Adauer over in Duluth: mesh BBS 14x6.5. He sold them for a nice price, way less than I'd expect, and within my budget. He has a NICE shop, and some cherry cars.
Thanks to all who wanted to help. All the info got me started on the road to success (a a 200m road trip of Gwinnett and Cobb counties!)

Argh! Oh well.
Son in Law is into the lifestyle, but not the work of owning a sports coupe. Maybe I can raise my grandson right!

Uhhh... yeah they do. Unless they sold 3 sets of them from the one at Buford since MONDAY when I was there... they have them. You just have to go there yourself and pick them out.

Matt-
I walked the yard, and asked three different folks. No joy.
Just as well, I found a set of 14x6.5 BBS Mesh (OEM) at Bavarian Motorsports (Haraold Adauer: instructor and racer) for about as much as I was willing to pay for Bottlecaps. Straight, complete, so we'll get along.
Thanks for your help Matt, et al. All the suggestions got me going in the right direction. Now if I can get those !@#$%^ studs out of the hub plates!
Wow... that's weird. I distinctly remember 2 2002s that had a set of bottlecaps each. :dunno
Good luck.

WytLytnyn 10-20-2005, 11:03 AM Try "Strictly German" up in Braselton. Bought a rim off them at a great price.
