ridr4lif 10-18-2005, 08:57 PM Awesome looking car man. I love hearing about people going all out on their 02s. Congrats on building such a beautiful car.
70roundtail02 10-18-2005, 09:15 PM very nice love the color
bigmansM 10-18-2005, 09:32 PM How much did it cost you to do all that?
What else have you done to the car?
Nice color...
How hard is it to get these cars to sit a little lower? seems like it is at or near stock ride height
ridr4lif 10-18-2005, 09:43 PM Yea i noticed it was sitting kinda high too. My car has h&r 1 1/4 lowering springs and it is nowhere near that high. Mabye b/c he's running 15's?:dunno
i3element 10-18-2005, 09:47 PM Good work man the color is beautiful, How much for the paint job? If you don't mind me asking...
noproblemq 10-18-2005, 10:07 PM Thanks guys...it has been a lot of work, and it is finally paying off.
I am about 5k into the entire resto. I have access to many resources that have helped me along the way. Most labor was done by myself and family.
I myself was hoping for a little lower stance with the H&R's, but have not achieved it. I have barely driven the car, so maybe with some miles things will settle a bit. I also should look at the spring perches, for thickness, and make sure they are sitting in the right spot. What else could it be?? Car is gutted, all it has is front seats. Maybe as i start re-insalling components, the extra weight will settle her down.
I want another inch lower or so.
Very nice... Looks like youve put alot of hard work into it!
That said, the wheels need to go (they are too big for such a little car) and i think that the lower chrome strip between the tail lights would look great on there. I know your going for the no chrome look, but the tail looks empty with out that strip. Otherwise, HOTNESS!
Edit: Taking a second look at the rims, they aren't THAT big. 14's might be better, but they aren't as bad as i first thought. Not my favorite style, but the car still looks hot!
HarryPR 10-19-2005, 08:57 AM Beautiful color! You have done a great job with that car.
I agree with Echo about the chrome strip between the tail lights. It would really set off the rear section of your beauty.
Bluntheadtrauma 10-19-2005, 11:21 AM looks really nice. its all personal taste but i think the 15's look fine. if it came down another inch it would be that much better. question tho, i see cars getting painted with the doors off and ive seen cars being painted with doors etc on. is there a better way??? obviously im no painter. i asked my paint guy and he said mine will be painted dissasembled. is there an advantage to either method?
Footewerks2002 10-19-2005, 12:17 PM Nice job man! That paint looks great on the car! Keep posting pics when you can.
vtbimmer 10-19-2005, 03:24 PM Like everyone else has already said, I love the color.

Obviously its better to have the car painted dissasembled. By this you can easily and fully sand all the corners and hard to reach areas. This is especially helpful if you are changing the color of the car. Also when painting the car you can shoot all the crevises much easier and with better results. You would be able to tell by looking at hinges and such if it was painted on the car or if it was dissasembled. This might cost more in labor but IMO its the only way to go if your doing a full resto. When I redid my E21 everything that was able to come off did, and was stripped to bare metal.
On that note, I really dig your 02. I agree with others on the rear trim, and maybe some period correct wheels, IMO that would set it off to the fullest degree.
Helmetboy 10-19-2005, 11:40 PM Great looking car, good job on the paint. I can't wait to see the finished product. I'm with everyone else on the wheels though to each his own
Lacuna2002 10-24-2005, 07:13 PM Beautiful car! Love the color.
