I bought a head from Strictly German; but, it came scratched and the machine shop said there's no way to mill it without risk of problems. So, this head is going to be returned. They do not have a replacement head.

Does anyone have an S52 head or analog equivalent that is for sale.

IDEALLY, it will be a remanufactured/rebuilt head. However, I am willing to consider used heads that are in excellent shape.

Thanks Mike. I completely forgot. However, he is a bit high in price. I paid $650 SHIPPED for a remanufactured head (new valve springs, retainers, etc). He wants $850 + shipping for a used head.

I'll give him a call. The only head I have has been thoroughly massaged and is likely much more expensive than what you are seeking based on what you've stated above. However, my radiator is just what you need.

I am assuming your 'massaged' head would move me out of IP. If not, I would be interested.

It's not the price per se; but, just found it weird that a completely rebuilt/remanfactured head was $650 shipped (new valve springs, retainers, etc) and Treehouse wanted $850 + shipping for one he was going to walk out the door and pull off a car and I would still need to spend around $200 having it refurbished.

Maybe it was b/c I mentioned "Seth T's name" to strictly german and got the discount and mentioned "your name" to treehouse ... and got the jack in price :stickoutt
