The Beastmaster 10-11-2005, 07:45 PM I go to Golden Upholstery. 808Cardinal87 10-11-2005, 09:12 PM Welcome to the club. I'm following the wise words that BM gave me a while ago "Wait until it falls all the way down, then get it fixed." I'm thinking I should just gut the whole interior to alleviate other problems from happening in the future. DesmoBob 10-11-2005, 09:35 PM I go to Golden Upholstery. Well, it'll make your car faster! mellowMpowered 10-11-2005, 10:18 PM I'll probably take it to Golden Upholstery. Thanks thrlls 10-11-2005, 10:21 PM I'll say it now.....sounds like an ED problem! See Beastie for the meds! 808Cardinal87 10-12-2005, 12:23 AM I'm figuring a couple hundred pounds. That means I can put on some weight of my own to offset it. Well, better get started and start drinking more! GcD 10-12-2005, 01:57 AM I went to King's. $175. rennwerkes 10-12-2005, 02:40 AM I took my Jag to the shop that's right in back of Cycle Imports (or whatever the Suzuki motorcycle dealer is here) in Iwilei. Hole in the wall but that's where Jag refers all their customers and I think Jag has a bigger headliner problem than BMW! Took them a few hours to do and you cannot tell they did anything other than the fact that the headliner is perfect!!! Not sure if this is King's. One thing, your car is gonna stink for about a week or two. Buy a respirator! :lol fffreshkope 10-12-2005, 03:51 AM Welcome to the club. I'm following the wise words that BM gave me a while ago "Wait until it falls all the way down, then get it fixed." i'm with beastie. GcD 10-12-2005, 05:07 AM Yea, mines stunk for about 2 weeks. I waited 2 years to fix mine. Gene V 04-14-2006, 09:11 PM yesterday my headliner decided to detach itself with a vengence, it was falling down all around the sunroof on the driver's side and rear...took it to Golden Upholstery early this morning and it was ready before 1:00 pm...they did a nice job, the new headliner matches up pretty well, and there's no glue smell to speak of...:buttrock Reverend73 04-14-2006, 10:10 PM When I had my 95 M3, I took mine to Freds Auto Top Shop. Did very good work, even did the sunroof (mine was falling off there too). though if you have to have the sunroof done it effectively doubles the price due to all the labor involved rennwerkes 04-15-2006, 12:28 AM Gene, how much??? How did they accomplish the fix without a glue smell? "Super" glue???:lol Gene V 04-15-2006, 12:50 AM Gene, how much??? How did they accomplish the fix without a glue smell? "Super" glue???:lol $208, including tax...sunroof panel was not done...don't know what they used for glue, maybe it was mushed up rice with a little water added...:stickoutt rennwerkes 04-15-2006, 12:58 AM Whoa, that's a good price. Good to know. The place it took my Jag to charged me $300 if I recall correctly and I had that glue smell for quite some time. But I have to admit, the job was perfect. Maybe it was more because they did the sunroof, not sure, though. The Beastmaster 04-15-2006, 01:45 AM $208, including tax...sunroof panel was not done...don't know what they used for glue, maybe it was mushed up rice with a little water added...:stickoutt Dean - Golden Upholstery is run by a Korean guy who does lots of work for the neighboring dealerships. I think you've seen their handiwork in some "dining" establishments. I've seen BMWs, Porsches, Mercedes and even Rolls and Bentleys in there for work. David is a real good guy. thrlls 04-15-2006, 01:50 AM They've been around for a long time! I remember going to them to have some Diamond Tuck work done on my '73 Datsun Pick. This was back in the....well a few years ago! :rolleyes The Beastmaster 04-15-2006, 01:53 AM They've been around for a long time! I remember going to them to have some Diamond Tuck work done on my '73 Datsun Pick. This was back in the....well a few years ago! :rolleyesYour bottle of radiator stop leak must be older than me! thrlls 04-15-2006, 01:56 AM Your bottle of radiator stop leak must be older than me! No way, that was for my '86 Toyota Hilux pick up. Not sure what to do with the stuff...I guess I could just trash it. rennwerkes 04-15-2006, 01:59 AM I know, I know, they redid a pair of Recaro's I had in factory BMW material for an 02 I had awhile back. But Lee's Upholstery (I think that's their name) does all the Jag dealership cars. They're also Korean (surprise!!!) and do some fantastic work also. The Beastmaster 04-15-2006, 02:13 AM No way, that was for my '86 Toyota Hilux pick up. Not sure what to do with the stuff...I guess I could just trash it. Storm drain. thrlls 04-15-2006, 02:20 AM Storm drain. You're a bad man! :nono However, great when it comes to PM! :buttrock Gene V 04-15-2006, 02:20 AM No way, that was for my '86 Toyota Hilux pick up. Not sure what to do with the stuff...I guess I could just trash it. thrlls, don't trash it, it could become a collector's item!...I've got a tube of Alumaseal radiator sealer that I'm saving, it was for my '83 Datsun p/u...it claims to be the world's best stop leak in two languages...:buttrock Reverend73 04-15-2006, 03:27 AM When I had my M3 done at Fred's it was $350 with the sunroof panel done, no glue smell, it looked better than new. I was going to have them do the A-pillers and rear deck, but it got wrapped around a utility pole before I got around to it:D DesmoBob 04-15-2006, 05:21 PM i second that for golden (thanks beastmaster). he finished in less than a day. he also gave the ceiling some nice thick padding too. there was a ferrari at the shop at the time i went. |
