Anyone have a reset tool in the Tulsa area that I can borrow to use on my 1996 328is? I need to reset the oil light. I need to just buy one of my own, but I just haven't gotten around to it yet...... Thanks!

You don't need the tool for this job, just jump the 7-pin on your diagnostic port to the ground(hex nut, its below the diagnostic port area).

Have your key in the ignition at position two(before turn-over).
Jump the 7 pin-to-ground for 10 secs or so, the green bars should fill up.
I used old speaker wire, works great.

I will likely need to do this as well.. do the oil change indicator lights only come on at startup? I wouldn't be annoyed by them until they are on while I'm driving, I suppose.

do the oil change indicator lights only come on at startup?
yes (comes on actually at the 2nd ignition position) ~3 secs then go away.

I don't think it should matter for the oil. Can I give it a try? Where are you located? Thanks! If it doesn't work, I'll do the manual method.
