Dropped off my daughter at Church off Sierra College and Douglas here in Granite Bay. When I was leaving, this A8 with 19's pulled up next to me. Looked pretty new, and his wife was pointing at my wheels and he was looking over at me.

We turned left onto Douglas and he kept looking. I had this feeling he was going to go, but then I noticed he had a daughter in the back, about 9 yrs old. But I still ahd the feeling. We cam up to the next light which was red, and he started to inch on me, so I put into S4. Light turned green and he stepped out quick, but not wot, so I just kind of stuck with him, I was at his bumper, then I heard him floor it, so I did the same. I pulled on him quickly as I climbed second gear, then as soon as it hit 3rd and I was climbing into the early 90's, he shut it down. At that time I was 2 cl in front of him.

I stayed in front of him and he got caught at the next light, but they sawy me at the gas station near auburn folsom and waved.

I didn't really notice any mods, only wheels where not stock. Not sure the specs on the A8's, but his car was longer and bigger than mine all together.

Although I don't agree with him racing with his kid, I thought it was smart of him to shut it down before it got too fast. There is no traffic on that road at that time, and it is 4 miles of a straight away, so it could have gotten fast.

Anyway, a nice Sunday drive...:alright

maybe since it was long open road iwth no traffic, he didn't mind climbing to hide speeds in a straight line. But yeah, indangering the child isn't a good thing.

A8's I think are just highway cruisers. I don't know the stats, but I think unless modded none of the A's are any good really.

Same 4.2L V8 that's in the A6, 340hp. Auto only. 0-60 in the mid 6's. I've spent a lot of time behind the wheel of the same model, and they're not painfully slow, but they're not quick either. Nice kill.

Nice kill. But there are some good audi's stock!!

I just picked up a 94 540ia and it's a blast to drive.... :buttrock I can't comment on the A8 much, but that exact same motor is in my wife's new S4 and it is lethal in that car....... She'd pull a train on me if we were to ever race.......

But I still really enjoy driving the E34. It has that "telepathic" steering and wonderful handling feel..... Something that seems to have been sort of "lost" a little on my E39 540/6.....
