View Full Version : Pics of my battle!
jays323i 10-09-2005, 12:45 PM Started out as a motor swap 323i to 325i. Its turned into a semi restore. The deeper i dug the more rust, 90% surface but the rear towers and corners of the floorboards need help. The motor is a 89 325i, resealed with chip and ansa headers.
jjgbmw323 10-09-2005, 01:01 PM The ansa headers look great jet hoted. Looks like the bolt to the 325i engine no problems and thats good to know. I have the same ones.
Unfortunately our cars where not undercoated, or designed to last as long as they have..therefore any old 323i around water and salt may have rust issues.
My car was code named "rustbox::eek:" and had roof flashing where the inspection station jacked Threw the bloody floorboards.
I think Maximallian can get u the floorboards, or you can cut them out of another 320i.
Looking good. Any issues with the engine install? Are you going with motronic? Updating the clutch?
I am going with motronic and have the 1990 325i head - being ported and polished, and the 89 325i block with 524td crank ready to go in.

jays323i 10-09-2005, 01:17 PM The floorboards aren't totally toast so i'll either fab up some sheetmetal or cut some off another. I'm using motronic and have the wiring harness done, so it should just be plug and play. I cut the plug off my harness and the 325i harness and soldered the needed wires then used shrink tubing over them. I can post a pic if anyone wants.
Using standard 325i clutch with 323i throw-out bearing

I would like to see the wiring harness. I am doing the same conversion, plus I am going to upgrade the injectors.
There is a site on the internet that has the exact 323i to 325i conversion including each wire and fuse box for the 323i. Did u use this

Yea i used the link from tricords site, it was pretty easy only about 8 wires that you need to connect. I used about 2 feet of wire so the harness will reach the fuse box, and plugs right in.
DJProfessor 10-10-2005, 12:12 PM damn you 323 guys, you make my swap look easy.........
super sexy by the by. love the pics......can't wait to see her done.
