I am looking for any opinions on Falken tires. I am considering using the brand on my 2000 740IL but would like a real life experience report on the Falkens. Thanks

I am considering using the brand on my 2000 740IL but would like a real life experience report on the Falkens. Thanks rmani 10-08-2005, 04:42 PM I haven't heard too many positive things from my friends who've owned falkens. Sorry I can't be of more help most of of the guys just seem to dislike them. brandon5069 10-08-2005, 05:41 PM friends have told me that falkens are not a good tire. the azenis sports (i think that's the name) are a great choice for autocrossing because of grip and their inexpense, on the other hand. if it was my 2000 740 i would opt for some michelin pilot sports. not too expensive, they offer a great ride, and they'll last a good while. brandon SE7EN40RTY 10-09-2005, 10:14 AM I love the Falkens, I have 245/35/19 in front and 285/30/19 in the rear. These tires have taken 30,000 miles and still have tread left on them. I used them in the winter even and they were suprisingly good. Very very good in the rain. Great treadewear rating 360 I think. And considering they are 19's I haven't have any problems with bubbling or anything for that matter. I'm almost at 32,000 miles on them now and am looking for a new pair for next summer. I love them. Oh and it's so hard to loose traction with them!!!! great!!!! Just grips and goes! I have another set of 19's that I have Pirelli P-Zero Russo 's on. In front they are 255/45/19 and in back they are 275/40/19. They are great too, and have a better ride but that is only because they have a thicker wall size. Their treadwearis at 220, not compared to Falken's 360. This means the Falken will last longer if they were both new. I give them a 10/10. :D Charisma 10-09-2005, 08:14 PM Falken Azenis seem to be great tires for AutoX because they aren't expensive and are rather grippy. They are also fairly common among the Japanese import crowd. BrokeMyWallet 10-09-2005, 08:39 PM i'm running Falken Azenis ST115, sizes 225/35/19 and 235/35/19. they're pretty new, and the shop (The Wheel Supply) stands by them as an inexpensive grip tire. So far, I'm not disappointed. 408BMW740 10-10-2005, 03:43 PM I'm running Falken Azenis ST115 in the 20 inch size. I've had them for about half a year now and so far, I am very impressed with the quietness and tread life of these tires. They are very reasonably priced tires and I would definately consider them again once I need new tires. Jfstu 10-11-2005, 11:05 AM Love my Falkens so far. Have 235/60/16 on my basketweaves for winter/roadtrips. Great in the rain. Cant wait to see how they are in the snow. Have about 7K on em so far and am very satisfied. And at $70 apiece, ya cant beat the price. mose121 10-11-2005, 11:42 AM friends have told me that falkens are not a good tire. the azenis sports (i think that's the name) are a great choice for autocrossing because of grip and their inexpense, on the other hand. if it was my 2000 740 i would opt for some michelin pilot sports. not too expensive, they offer a great ride, and they'll last a good while. brandon Michelin Pilot Sports are cheap tires? :confused That's a good one. $230 per tire cheap? I'd much rather go with any of the Yokohama AVS's. Better dry grip and cheaper. They won't last quite as long but the performance advantage is definately noticable. The Falken Azenis tires are a nice alternative as well. But at 120+ MPH, I'd rather put my trust in Yokohama/Michelin. jmott 10-11-2005, 11:50 AM Michelin Pilot Sports are cheap tires? :confused That's a good one. $230 per tire cheap? The Azenis doesn't make much sense on a 7 series though. They are stiff (bumpy) and loud as hell, and won't last long on such a heavy car |
