Oh my God. This stuff is amazing. This is actually the first automotive product that actually works better than claimed. I only wish I had used it years ago. My dove gray Vaders would be thanking me. They look brand new even if there is only 33k miles on the car. Thanks Autogeek!!

I just did the same thing, my leatherique just arrived yesterday. I put it on and you can tell it is a quality product. Its the only thing I have done to the leather. its a 99 m3 with 34K miles. It made the Black vaders darker and more rich/smooth. I don't think I will be using anything else now.

That stuff works wonders in the summer. Leatherique is awesome. The leather in my car felt like cardboard when I first got it. Now it feels like leather again. :)

and what exactly did you do?

I ordered the rejuvinator wich you massage in with your hands, and them once it dries you use the pristine clean to clean off the residue and the dirt etc.. that comes to the surface.

I got 16oz bottles of both for I think like $50 shipped. Knowing what a good product it is I wish I would have bought the bigger bottles.

After I bought my 530i and started reading this forum, the first detaining product I bought was Leatherique. I've used a lot of leather treatments - Lexol, Hide Food, and Letherique is the best IMHO.

Correct. First step conditions and exfoliates all the dirt/grim etc. second step cleans it all off.

There seems to be some confusion. Leathique makes both maintenance and restoration products.

The restoration products are for redyeing and crack filling. You use them when the leather is badly worn or torn. That would be a lot of work.

BlownM3 used the maintenance products, Rejuvinating Oil and Pristine Clean. The RO conditions the leather, the PC is a cleaner. The RO needs time to soak into the leather and heat helps a lot. This is not a spray on, wipe off product like Lexol. But the results are worth the extra work, IMHO.

Does the smell bother anyone else?
The stuff works great, but the smell lingers for days, and it's not exactly spring time fresh :shifty

I sort of like the smell. I guess I associate it with clean and well-conditioned leather. :)

I like the smell, too. A Leatherique treatment makes the car smell sort of like the leather goods store at the mall. :D

Thank god I decided to check this posting, my seats are like cardboard and could use a good cleaning/conditioning. I was going to replace them but this might do the trick.

hmm... maybe my sense of smell is off... but it smells almost exactly like the stuff I use to stain the wood deck at my cabin :confused

Any pics, guys? My drivers seat is torn, so I need to replace this, but if it really loosens the leather up and all, I might do this to my passenger's seat and rear, in hopes it will prevent it from staying hard and eventually tearing. How much does this product cost?

Thanks,
Dan

It's not cheap. Autogeek has a prety good price on Leatherique. They sell a 16 oz kit for $50 and 32 oz kit for $70. That includes the 16 or 32 oz each Rejuvinating Oil and Pristine Clean, an applicator and a towel. You need 4oz of RO for each seat for each treatment. You really need to slather it on and let it sit until it is absorbed. Heat speeds the absorption. So it's best to do this when it's hot and sunny, so you can leave the car outside with the windows up. It takes longer when it's cool, so you might plan on letting the car set for a couple of days in a warm garage.

Hey, if it really works, I'm up for it. Would really like to see some pics though...

Is this stuff good for leather that has turned shiny? My car has 110k miles on it.

THe shine will disappear after using Leatherique RO and PC, but I imagine it will return.

Leatherique is supposed to condition the leather by supplying moisture and collagens to the leather thereby making the leather fibers stronger. I have no idea if that claim is true.

I can say that the leather is more pliable after application. You can feel the difference. And it does not make the surface sticky or gooey.

I've used Lexol, Hide Food, and Amorall leather conditioners. Lexol would be my second choice. It leaves a nice finish, but does not seem to really soak in, and I could not tell that the leather was more pliable.

Hide Food leaves a waxy surface. I can't tell that Hide Food conditioned he leather, either, but I can say it smells really bad. I think it's mostly lanolin with solvents.

Finally, I used Amorall leather Treatment on a worn steering wheel. That was a mistake. The surface became gooey and sticky. The finish was all but gone and nap of the leather raised. Not at all what I was looking for. It might be ok on leather in good condition, but I'll never use it again.

Dmurray14, I don't think the pics before and after Leatherique treatment would show much. It's not going to refinish the leather or remove wrinkles or heal tears. It will make the leather more pliable. I may be wrong, but I feel that this "moisturizing" will prevent cracking.

BTW, I don't own Leatherique stock, I just like the product a lot.

I would love to try the leatherique some day, but the Zaino leather cleaner and conditioner I use does the job pretty good for the price.

The smell goes away after a week or less. Just drive with your windows down if you want it to fade faster. Its not an overpowering smell by any means and I actually found that it smelled nice and clean.

A word of caution, this product will not dry fully unless you have substantial heat. I recommend it for summer use only. I used it early fall here in seattle and it didn't dry in two full days of sitting outside (the sun was out) at which point I had to clean it up anyways to drive it. So I don't think I got the results I should have, although they were still pretty good. I might purchase a small space heater to help it dry so I can do it again in the next few weeks. Maybe even over thanksgiving.

I use a small space heater. I spray the conditioner liberally and massage it in with my hands. Then I cover my front vaders with a trash bag and put the heater on the floor in the back with the doors closed.

I use Meguiars vinyl/rubber conditioner on the dash etc and that overpowers the smell of the Leatherique although it doesn't bother me anyway.
Just something I've noticed.

So I just got my Leatherique products today. The Oil, Cleaner, and the crack filler. The instructions that came with the stuff are meager at best!!! How the hell are you supposed to use this crack filler stuff just wipe it on or what. Should I oil the seats frist and clean them with the cleaner, then put the crack filler in or should I put the crack filler in first then do the oil, cleaner treatment? The crack filler is this white stuff in a little jar looks like you just wipe it on. Anybody know info is much appreciated. All the directions say is wipe it on and sand off hi spots?? Great detail :D LOL Thanks again Lee

Reconditioned my seats a couple of weeks ago.
Due to cooler weather, I left the conditioner on for over a day.
This time, rather than just wipe it off and apply the Pristine Clean, I put the PC
on and then wiped off.
Made a world of difference compared to other times I'd done the leather with it.
Even the back seat is softer and no-one ever sits back there.
