What kind of surface are the roads? Condition?

How fast will we be traveling on said roads?

The roads are obviesly welll paved, mostly like in the pictures that i have posted above. We will be driving above the average speed limit, i'd call it "spirited driving" nothing out of the average driving skill required since im not a scca racer myself :)
The fun part is the amazing amount of turns, uphills and downhills we will be going through... beutiful scenery

It was fun leading you guys around the twisties. You guys are good drivers and that it made it easy to lead. I hope your all not too pissed that it was a Subaru that showed you the way.

I never though about owning a BMW until yesturday. Your cars really do handle well.

Now if I could figure out everyone's real name, screen name and car they were driving Sunday ill be doing alright.

I thought both roads conditions were great. I wish I had a second chance to run with you Mitch... (6 Series driver). I wanted to give everyone else a chance to try to keep up with you.:)

I would say the bumpies were interesting to ride on but it is an acquired taste. My car held on very well, surprisingly but don't get me wrong I HAD TO HOLD TIGHT on the steering wheel and keep the speed moderately high (50-60mph).

I wanted to take the car close to the its threshold and pull back... Call me crazy but I enjoyed every turn, dive, incline, uneven payment, panic breaking (:evil2 ), dual lane incline, enclosed road with the autumn roughage(:buttrock ), cool breeze while the top was dropped(:eyecrazy ) and tight-tight turns throughout this full day of exciting driving.:handclap :handclap

I agree with Mitch's statement, everyone drove very well. Good to see other good drivers on the road regardless of age and car model.

That's enough from me... Let me know when you're ready to ride again!

P.S. Subaru's are fine.:D

No problem. I have a few more route's up my sleeve. One that takes us into PA and another that goes into NY plus combinations of different runs.

I ended up going out on most of the same roads the next day leading a pack of 15 sportbikes. I was kinda worn out after leading fast Drivers/Riders for 2 days in a row. I had less problems with our car group than with the bike's.

I figured there would be more people from the drive posting here.

You are the man. After our fast ride and +2 hour ride home (oh did I mention destroying a Rx8 on 287:nono ), I was dead tired and got plenty of sleep.:eek:

Glad to hear we were a little better than the bikers but it would be interesting if you could share some of the differences you encountered.

Let's definately take another cruise this fall (Less the snow of course). I will have my snows on though.

Yup, I was pretty beat after our Drive. I think I fell out around 8 which was a good thing since I did it again the next day. <o:p></o:p>

On our Drive we had group of drivers with skill levels pretty close to each other. For some it was the first time they ever did this kind of driving. It seemed like Z – Thrizzle wasn’t close to breaking a sweat following me. I may have to get a faster car. <o:p></o:p>

The bike ride I did had riders of varying skill that were much greater, plus it was also a big group (15). There were longer wait’s at every road/direction change. Also the group would really spread out since some couldn’t maintain decent speed through the turns and other people missing a turns. <o:p></o:p>

When your in a smaller group and your all driving tight it adds to the drive. I think that 4 to 7 cars is best. Its also a big plus if everyone has radios. With a big group, lets say 16; the distance could be a mile from the first to last car. At those distance’s in the mountains those hand held’s don’t work so I’d use my cb too. <o:p></o:p>

Maybe the 12<SUP>th</SUP> or the 19<SUP>th</SUP> of this month would be good. As soon as it gets too cold to ride I’ll be in the car doing these Drive’s. I’ll be on the bike this weekend. <o:p></o:p>

Hey GMAN, the weather was great on Saturday. How was golfing? I haven't picked up a club in about a year or so:(
Well on sat I played paintball with some of the guys on bimmerforums. I had a great time but was completely exhausted afterwards.

I'll start a new thread for next weekend. As long as a good crowd is 5-7 cars we will be fine. A small group is SO much better. For those of you that drive all winter I'll be shooting for 2 drive's per month until it become's bike weather again. I go out if its raining or snowing ( unless its a blizzard ).
