This Saturday at 9am is the Tulsa area BMW CCA monthly breakfast at Full Cup (4634 E. 31st St; west of 31st and Yale). Time to start thinking about activities for next year (and finishing off this year):
1. Fall Tour - trying to organize a road trip to/on/around Talihina Drive. :shine
2. Holiday Dinner - probably in January (and 60 floors up!)..come and find out! :crazynoel
3. Driving Event (school and track time, cones, etc.) :checkered
4. Street Survival School. :round
5. Jenks II (?) - Tulsa Area Charity Car Show.:help
We had about 12 last month.. good turn out! The parking lot behind the restaraunt is usually relatively empty and a good place to line up the rides! Hope to see ya there!

I'd like to add another topic to the agenda - a 2006 BMWCCA Club Race at Hallett with COMMA. There was one tentatively scheduled for this month (Oct 2005) with COMMA, but there was some confusion (at least I was confused :embarrasm ) about who was coordinating the event. I thought the national office was going to make it happen, but they were waiting for a host chapter to pick up the ball. I think we all realized too late that the event was in jeopardy of being cancelled - which is exactly that happened unfortunately. Anyway, to make it happen in 2006, we need a host chapter to formally own the sanction and pay for a defined portion of the race steward's expenses (some are picked up by National, some are the responsibility of the host chapter). I'm willing to chair the event, Chris Gant said he will also help out and/or co-chair. All that is left is making sure we get 12+ cars, which is what COMMA requires to have us a separate group. Since they are holding a race weekend anyway, they handle all of the workers, equipment, all they require our guys to do is pay entry fees. Anyway, I'll stop rambling on the keyboard now and we can talk about it Sat morning.

Vern, I'm going to fwd: your post to the Sunbelt Board, as they are having a Board Meeting tonight in OKC.
Oh yea.. Sounds like a great idea! Saw a CCA race out there in 2004.. lots of fun! Can I be your tire-man? :alright

Cool, thanks! Larry just copied me in on an email to the board about it. I wasn't sure from the email thread if the BoD meeting was tonight or next week. Regardless, I told them to contact me anytime if they want any info before the Sat breakfast. I hope we can get a 2006 Hallett Club Race going - doing one with COMMA is perfect, they want us there and it reduces our financial risk and exposure to almost nothing as a Chapter. I'd welcome any help, I'll need it to beat Chris at his home track :D

DRIVING EVENTS! We need more of 'em. I'ld like to see some autocross events, maybe at the sheriefs dept training course in OKC. I've spent more time with the PCA (Porsche) this year than the BMWCCA because the PCA autocross events are mostly open to the public. This helps cover the costs they have associated with renting the track and whatever.
