I was driving behind a pickup on the highway(417) and this little VW gti was on me. The guy was a tool and he would not get more than a car length away from me(80mph). The truck switches lanes and he blows by me, i catch up to him cruising at 90 and when I do, we slow down to like 60ish. We acknowledge and we go. I pull 1 car length of the start and through 3rd but when I hit like 5500k, he gained before I hit redline. At this time, we were even and about a second later, he just took off :eek: I was at 85+ and he had 1-2 lengths on me. By the time i hit 105, he had like 3 lengths on me:eyecrazy. This 5 inch exhaust was making me def and the little ghey kept on going. We hit 120+ and he was about 5-6 lengths by the time I let off. He kept going at like 100-105 and took the next exit. DAM!!!!!! I couldnt get another run at the MOFO. His gti must have had a 20+ psi turbo. He killed me. I'm running an E46 325 with intake, exhaust. :mad :mad :help

What style Golf GTI are we talking here? MK1, MK2, MK3, MK4, MK5? Can you describe said GTI? :)

It was the 2002-2005 models, the newer ones. i guess the mk4...?

MK4 indeed. I'm thinking with proper chipping a 180bhp GTI would put a hurtin' on a E36? 325i.

simple chip will get HP to around 210-220 and torque jumps to 250 (with most chips)

yeah simple chipped would probably definately put a hurtin on an 325, especially a e46.

Ya, those buggers are fast. I wish we could chip our bimmers and gain like the Audis. I guess we pay more for a better NA engine and Bimmer quality. PEACE

I have beatin a Gti Before (Mk4).. Its a pretty Even match, It was definitly a drivers Race. I have a 328i E46 Manuel. I love racing them, U never know what the outcome will be
I didnt know Gti had different Name Type's like Mk4.. hmmm kinda like E36 and E46 and shit, thats cool. I always love learning Euro Lingo.
