KILL STORY VS. MY TIME LOL

m3/4 black/grey AUTO!! DINAN s1-m3 package (NOT S/C)
dinan intake,exaust,tranny,ecu,strut bars,suspension

****** RUNNING 100 Octane Race Fuel********* 96 to empty in tank
Weight after 1st run was 3301 pounds without me then 3452 with me in it, all stock with my spare in trunk!

ok i am gonna type out the slip...somebody help me with what i did wrong

Temp f. 64
Humidity 0
Barometer 29.51

RIGHT LANE!

R/t .584
60' 2.235
330 6.245
1/8 9.520
MPH 75.76
1000 12.328
1/4 14.680
MPH 94.54

Quickest run of 3 passes Others were 14.783 at 94.88 (60ft 2.249) and my worst 14.945 at 94.82 (60ft 2.351).

After the 2nd run i was on the line waiting to run again. let it cool down for about a hour then started up to run again and the check engine light came on... i ran with it on and ran my worst time. launched way to hard and cherped out tires off the line.

The car was feeling good the first 2 runs and then when my check chgine light hit i herd my vanos acting up. I opend the hood and felt the vanos rattling and was not about to make a 3rd pass but i did anywas. now i got a check engine light and a loud vanos. running mobile synt. 10-w40 and just did a tuneup.

all 3 VID's will be up soon..just need to get tape from my friend.

P.s a 4 dr 328is stick with just a intake ran a 15.3!!! thats what shocked me ALL stock body and reg tires!

Your input is needed. what did i do wrong? is this a accurate time? and why am i not running any faster?? this is Sad the m3 is not supposed to run a fucken 14.6 ...this is horrible. i love my m but if i can beet a fucken 14.3-4 then this thing will be up for sale ASAP!.

umm incase you didnt know. 100 octane fuel carries lead. Which makes the engine not ping as much and will allow "in therory" a faster running car. However because it contains lead, that will eat away and your catylic convert. A catylic converters' worst enemy is lead. it destroys cats. So if you destroyed your cat will running this fuel, then perhaps your O2 sensor might be contaminated. If that were the case, then your fuel trim would be off because post cat O2s "fine trim" the fuel. (The pre cat O2 controls the major part of it) This might be the case in making your car run bad. Perhaps your not hearing the vanos and its something else. This will set a check engine light because your O2 might not be responding correctly.

Just a thought

Not all 100 octane is contains lead. Sunocco Race fuels don't not sure of other brands. Most 103+ do, however, contain lead.

As far as the problem you'll need to hook up an OBDC tool to find out the problem.

i dont know if 14.6 is actually bad for an AUTO e36 m3. manual m3's are usually anywhere between 13.9 - 14.3. So it doesn't seem like you are that far off. and you should be slower that a 5spd m3.

how hot was it? what was the elevation?

also EDIT YOUR PROFANITY or this thread will get locked :nono

doh ... i just re-read your post ... temp and elevation were NOT an issue. Also ... with your go-fast mods ... i agree .. you should have done a little better. was this your first time at the track :dunno

i would hope the timeslip is accurate as he is looking for HELP not to BRAG. in which case a scanned timeslip might matter.... but anyway.

I've never heard of anyone say here is my timeslip and then type some numbers. That's like the other guy rating his car at crank horsepower.

And if you can't see why this shouldn't be posted in this section, well I'll let a moderator explain that one to you.

I said no offense, looks like you got offended. :) As far as calling me a "kid" I am 35 years old brother.

What is the elevation of the track? Temp and humidity aare okay.

Your times seem accurate, I mean you have an AUTOMATIC. To get an Auto e36 m3, to be as fast (or slightly faster) than a stock 5 speed e36 m3, you need to get a 3.91 lsd. You are considerably slower being auto.

Also, like soembody else said, EDIT YOUR PROFANITY. Your thread will get locked, before you get more help.

was this your first time at the track with this car? I think the times are in the norm for what your car is. it does seem that you where sleeping at the light a little with that rt of .584 . I know of alot of people claim better times but i think that over 90% of what people claim online is not true or just using a G-tech (which is alot different from the real track) Good job and keep it up
BTW you don't need to run 100 octane for you car. it will be fine with 91-93 maybe even a little better :buttrock

I agree, 100 octane does nothing for normal compression/non forced induction motors.

100 ron is fine if you advance your timing to take advantage of it.
also lead in your fuel will kill your O2 sensor.

The first thing you need to do is...

"Weight after 1st run was 3301 pounds without me then 3452 with me in it"

Gain some weight. 151 pounds is unhealthy. Deeamn.

100 is unleaded.
