the guy at the dealer printed me a sheet which said I should use various types of ATF in the gearbox. but the Castrol manual said to use "Castrol Manual EP 80W" so I bought 2liters of it , is this the right stuff? thanks

Don't know about the 92 e34, but I think that most people with e39s designed to use ATF use Royal Purple Syncromax.
