Anybody have them locally, or have a reasonable (or exact) estimation of what they weigh per seat?

I did, but I sold them with the E30. They are aluminum, so not THAT heavy

I don't know about VAC per se but I have a new set of Sparco seat mounts and slider for a universal side mount shell (inc. brackets)...it was a spare but I can sell if you need, I don't think I need it any more...no idea on the weight however these types of parts the savings in weight from one brand to another is negligable

Ya think? Recaro Alum side mounts + VAC floor adapters = LTW :buttrock

the weight savings compared to standard sparco hardware is not that much IIRC...plus if you've gotta meet a min weight then it's not super critical to save a couple of pounds here or there, however you can always add ballast in the right locations to make up for it...

Big weight difference to what I have now.. thick box steel. Think 20 lbs per seat..

Threadjack - Greg, did you ever sell the wheels/toyos?

the VAC aluminum mounts weigh no more than 5 lbs.

Get the Sparco alum. side mounts and you'll really save some weight... this is what I had in the BSP car before

Just make your own brackets. They'll be much cheaper and about the same weight... did I mention cheaper?
