I may be wrong, BUT:
How can your motor have an M5 cam? M5 motors are DOHC, while your 533 has a SOHC.
Other than that, sounds good, I guess. Don't know much about the older ones, except that they look cool.

Link to the "ape chip", please.
The cam question is valid. Did you have the cam reground to a similar duration as the M5 instead? Or perhaps use a cam from a M535 euro or some such?
Did you actually bore the block out to 3.5L, or was the stroke increased? Also, what do you mean by "larger pistons"? Did you change the compression ratio?
Who did your headers?

I actually just bought the car from a bmw service manager so I do not know everything about the car. it does have a euro cam and was bored out. I also know that it infact has an a.p.e. chip unless the service manager lied to me.

ok... just because he's a servicee mgr, doesn't mean that h knows anything.
first off, the motor has been swapped with a B34, same thing I did. no problem here.
i doesn't have an m5 cam... it isn't possible. it has something else.
i would be very interested to see what a more knowledgable enthusiast can determine.
as for the chip, most 533s, save VERY LATE 84s cannot be "chipped" so you are either a lucky bastard or the engine management has been replaced with a B34 setup.
