I just got a Alpine CDA-9851. I'm a noob with audio equipment. According to my friend all I need to make this work in my 98 328is is the harness kit and an antenna adapter. Is this correct? A different friend of mine was telling me I need to bypass the factory amplifier or I could blow the headunit. So what do I do?? Do I need anything else? Thanks

I dont think you need an antenna adapter. As far as the amp, I'm not sure. Somebody here will know.

you do need an antenna adapter

kick number 2 in the groin
buy number 1 lunch

make sure you hook up the remote turn on wire to the remote lead on the harness (blue, might say ant) - use the remote lead on the head (probably blue white, will say rem or remote)
