Hey guys, hopefully you can help me determine the culprit. My drivers side door has this annoying frggin rattle (sounds like metal hitting glass or something) and when i'm driving and i press my elbow hard enough on the door (basically on the rear section of the door, by the airbag) the rattle stops.

I don't want to take the door apart but if need be i will. It so damn ANNOYING. What exactly do you guys think it might be??

Any help would be appreciated. :)

P.S I never had one friggin rattle in my 97 M3 and i had 85,500 miles on it when i sold it.

It is common with the E46 M3 it is apparently the clips or something like that. I have both doors rattling right now.

Yup... you need rubber washers on the door where the panel attaches. More than likely that's the cause...

So basically i should stick rubber washers in between the door and door panels where the clips are located?

If I am correct the clips just come loose a little so what you do is you put a washer on the clip then shove it back in and that way when it rattles the rubber will deaden it

Will warranty fix this? Also it could be the seat belt hitting up against the plastic...

It's definitly not the seat belt, i made sure of that already. But also i always have my seat belt on so not metal would be hitting the plastic.

Are you implying that you don't wear your seat belt. :nono Bad boy. :nono

Warranty fixed mine before but after about 2 or 3 months the rattle came back.
