Strange - the radio seems to be functioning ok, but no volume at all?
Cassette plays, CDs change, nav works - just no sound, no voice...any ideas?

Maybe the amp is bad/ not getting power? Don't know where it is in your 5er, but that would be the first thing to check... if it's like the e36's, it will also have a fuse on it to check as well. It's probably somewhere in your trunk (e36s have them on the left side behind the trunk wall carpet).
