Visiting the Big Island (Kona side) next week and would like to see if any BMWCCA or Bimmerforums member would like to hang out (snorkle, surf, run, mt bike, kayak, etc) or talk cars over coffee. Send me a PM if you are able to hang out. Thanks! :redspot

If I wasn't married I'd buy a ticket to fly over there and meet you ;)

Just Kidding..Hope you have a good time on the BI. Like San Jose it takes you forever to drive anywhere on the Big Island. But in SJ you go 2 miles in 2 hours, but on the BI you can go 120 miles or more in 2 hours and still be in the middle of nowhere :D

Great bargains there, huh. :nono

Checked out a few places awhile back and BI prices seemed to be no more than 15-20% off what was happening here.

Unless you want an acre lava in HOVE. There's the deal of the century. :lol

No, I was not counting Teruko, but I dont think I have ever seen her post on Bf.c.

Hey Scott, I did want to ask you who makes the rims that you have on the E46?

Nic, she joined shortly after I joined, posted two messages and has lurked in the meantime since. :confused

Intended as a track wheel, the RAC RS110's made by Champion Motorsport.

Light for the size, (18.5lbs for the 18x9.5 and 19.5 lbs for the 18x10) strongest wheel out there, designed for the E46 M3, the offset is perfect, plus I think they have a very purposeful, non-bling appearance.

No, I was not counting Teruko, but I dont think I have ever seen her post on Bf.c.

Pat,

I think ANYone and EVERYONE sticks out like a sore thumb in HOVE or RANCHOS.... the place is like the wild west. But the prices are... er, less than areas which feature dirt. :eyecrazy

I got the impression that all 10,000 HOVE lots are plumbed.... it's Ranchos (makai side of highway and 3 acre lots) that have no water.

Still... boring!

Well, you guys did it again!
You managed to scare of another semi-newbie poster...and one of the rare female ones at that!

m3littleone, just enjoy yourself. If you've never been there before, just seeing all the lava and sulfur banks will be exciting not to mention the ocean and land activities there.

Have fun!

You guys are funny! Wow alot of posts since I check yesterday. Thrlls, I did not get scared off. :stickoutt Had to go to a dreaded dentist appointment yesterday and just worked half a day. I dont get on the internet when I get home, I go out and play with my car (98 M Roadster)! Yippy!!! We had awesome weather yesterday (mid 80's). My car is originally from BMW of Honolulu. Someday I will take it back home. hehe :) The car always gets stares where every I go probably because of its unique color (Evergreen - even though it looks like a light teal color) or because there is a cute chick sitting in the driver seat (me). haha :D

Ronin009 - why the Big Island.. Just a family vacation. I didnt pick the island. Parents did. Who can pass up a free trip to Hawaii. Water is water and sand is sand. I can get a tan on any island and snorkle off the shores from any island. Last summer I was in Honolulu twice. But it was before I bought my car and was active on the sight. Other wise I think it would have been cool to meet some of you.

Beastmaster - Sorry no Sillicon Valley techy here (I work in the hotel industry) and no bazillionaire either LOL (only 25 and I work for the hotel industry LOL). No money to be made in hotels like the tech world. *sigh* I do have an interview with a hotel while I am there. Who knows, I might be moving to Hawaii if I land the job. *shrugs*

95Dinan3 - All the good ones are married. Darn it! hahahaha If you still wanna buy me a ticket I will gladly fly out. I LOVE Hawaii! Who would be stupid enough to pass up a trip to Hawaii. Besides you are allowed to hang out with other BMW lovers, arent you? Alot of the guys in the BMWCCA Golden Gate chapter are married, sucks for me. LOL Need a date for their holiday party in December. Any one from Hawaii wanna go?? hehehe

Here is a general question for any of you. I have a BMW of Honolulu license plate frame and its ageing. I would like to replace it eventually with another one. Does anyone know someone there that they could get one for free or cheap? Thanks guys! You guys are a talkative bunch. Nice to see that. Maybe next summer I can go back to Honolulu to hang out...*day dreaming*

BMW Hono licence plate frame? mclaus could probably help you with that. If it just needs cleaning up, use Mothers aluminum or metal polish, or that Flitz stuff they sell at the As Seen On TV stores is good. Head out to the Great Mall and get one. :D

As for the Evergreen Roady, I've seen that car driving around before. It has that beige colored roof, right?

Dentist appt? One of my friends is a dentist in San Jose and he also is involved in some Hawaii themed restaurant/nightclub. Watch out for that one, he's a real horndog! :biglaughb

As for single men in GGC, you should be able to find one, there are over 5000 members.

The Great Mall cart stands are ghetto! I would never buy a stupid frame from them. LOL Their quality lacks a little. I rather have it be authentic! :) Yeah I have the Mothers polishing stuff i use on my exhaust tips. Its the black lettering that is fading. I think taking a black Sharpie marker would be a little ghetto. Might work though.. I still would like to have a back up. How do you know so much about San Jose? You originally from here or do you just visit alot?

My Evergreen M Roday has a black top and black interior. I have seen the ones with the two tone interior. YUCK! Black is so classy and chic. hehehe

As for the 5000 members, its tough to find the ones in state. Those long distance relationships are tough. If they are in German, I think I could make an exception. LOL Would get to drive Nurumburging (dont think thats spelt right)...

I used to spend alot of time in Cupertino and Sunnyvale. I used to run a business based in Cupertino and we also have a couple shopping centers in San Jose. I was out there last year looking at a house with my brother in Villa Bellagio? Why the heck are the tire shops and speed shops closed on Sundays? :mad

m3littleone
09-29-2005, 04:03 PM
Cupertino is cool. Good restuarants in Sunnyvale. Do you ever get a chance to go to Santana Row near Valley Fair Mall. There are tons of good restaurants there and always nice cars driving by. If your in town next time go to Straits Cafe. Thats one of my favorites. Good food and drinks! You ever in town for the weekend, the GG Chapter always has events going on. If you come in October you might be able to go to American Lemans at Laguna Seca. Fun stuff I tell ya!

Weather is awesome here on The Big Island. What a small airport they have. There sure is alot of lava rock here. hehehe Its sure different from Oahu. Perhaps I will give this Alan dude a call. Maybe he has an M3!?! I really think they should have put the type of cars by people's name in the BMW Friends book. Then you can see if you have things in common before you actually call the person. Seems simple enough.. Ok, I am going back to the pool for a night swim. :cool

It's by southpoint, the southernmost point in the USA. You drive down there (thru the turbine fields...), jump off the cliff if you feel like it too (like 30 ft., people do it all the time), but anyways, park at one of the lots just to the side of the actual southernmost point. If some kid tries to charge you to park, its BS, the parking is free. There *might* be a sign that says something about the green sand beach. By the way, you do NOT want to leave anything valuable in the car.
If you've got a good 4WD, I'm talkin a real jacked up jeep (not just a little Explorer), then you can drive the rest of the way. But the best way is to just start hiking. You take the dirt road eastward for a few miles parallel to the coast. Keep the ocean in site, and you won't get lost. You should see other people making the same trek, and they can help ya out. It'll seem like way longer than you expect. Lots of sunscreen and water necessary, as its frickin hot and directly in the sun.
Anyways, after hiking for like an hour or so, you'll finally come to a big rock formation with the green sand beach tucked in next to it. It's not a bright green, more of subtle dull green, but very cool. There should be a handful of people there. It's nice to swim and hang out for a lil while..... one of the strangest places I've ever been to.....
