View Full Version : kuroda, sigs, or oka's..??
fffreshkope 09-28-2005, 04:38 AM does anyone have any experiences with these body shops..?
i will be taking my car to one of them for repairs.
this is for the damages from when i got rear ended.
kuroda auto repair, waipio
sigs auto body & paint, waipahu
oka's auto body, waipahu
any input would be appreciated.
thanks :)
arctic e36 09-28-2005, 04:40 AM ive dealed with sigs and my friend has dealed with kuroda. both top A++ shops to go to. Sigs might be a little more convenient when it comes to renting a car though.
The Beastmaster 09-28-2005, 04:40 AM What about Central in Pearl City? They specialize in BMWs.
Sigs does good work.
I went to Oka's w/ cars I've owned before. Good work. They have loaner cars.
My car was taken to Sig's once when it was reversed into. The paint they used began to flex and peel.
Are you gonna fix ur dented door also? Full respray?

i won't be needing a rental car..
we got an extra beater sitting around.

hmm..
central would've been the next shop to look into.
but the above three are the closest to where i live.
i'll be needing other repairs done on my car later.
i'll definitely give them a holler.
thanks for the input.

flex + peel = :(
i might fix the door at a later date.
i have to file a separate claim for it.
or i might do it all at once.
depends..
not sure yet.
full respray would be nice.
saw your car in the classifieds today.
good luck with the sale :buttrock
Gene V 09-28-2005, 01:35 PM My wife's ES300 has been to Sig's twice in the last year...they did a nice job matching the paint and the car was clean upon delivery...however, there was a lot of overspray on the roof after the first job (noticed it the first time I washed the car after delivery), they took care of it without a hassle during the second visit...
rennwerkes 09-28-2005, 03:35 PM If you really want a good job done I think the best thing is to go down there and check things out. Sig's won't take the time on your car unless you show them you care about what's being done. Last time my car was there (years ago!) they had a computerized paint mixing set up and had the best of everything. They also used Speisecker (sp?) German paint for the shoot. This is probably one of the most important things to look for! If a shop tells you that any good paint is okay move on to the next shop. Ideally you want a good European paint like Sikkens or Glasurit. To me, no comparison to American paints.
Central is good but takes a LONG time.
I've also heard Amity does good work. They're down in the University area.
Good luck!

as long as they take care of problems..
it's all good.
main thing is quality of body work + paint.
but as pound4lb stated..
he had issues with his paint peeling.
seems like an isolated case :dunno
g, did they take care of it for you..?

hmm.. interesting.
will keep that in mind.
i totally forgot to ask about paints, though.
thanks for reminding me :)
It happend after a year after it was repaired. IIRC, they warrant their work only for a year. Then I got a dented door (like you). Then said f#ck it, I'll go estoril. :)
Gene V 09-29-2005, 03:15 AM funny, they warranteed the work on my wife's car for 5 years...maybe becasue it was a GEICO job...
