Here are some pics of the new sled with stage 1 done:
PICS (http://www.evosport.com/public/brad/e46m3c/)
These are from Willow Springs on Friday where we did a press ride and drive for the Praxis suspension by Bridgestone and H&R.
Thanks to these fine companies for helping get this car ready for last Friday:
- Bridgestone/Praxis
- BBS
- Brembo
- Powerchip
- Vorsteiner
- Wet Works
- H&R
- Ground Control
Performance: evosport headers, evosport pulleys, AFE intake, Powerchip tune, Borla Muffler (soon to be Magnaflow)
Aero: Vorsteiner CSL bumper, diffuser and GTR hood.
Suspension: Praxis, H&R sways, CG arms, bearings and street stability kit
Wheels/Tires: BBS RS-GT (19x8.5 / 19x10), S-03, Brembo GT 15"/13.6"
Car is a monster right now! ;^)
More to come!
Thanks
Brad
Kevlar 09-26-2005, 09:54 PM car looks beautiful... i'm interested in the praxis setup. looks very promising.
Brad @ evosport 09-26-2005, 10:05 PM it is suprisingly amazing. I will give ANYONE test rides. But it is great on track and street. They are so compliant. No typical rebound issues with some suspensions. The car is just set-up. Handles well and is not harsh.
It is really cool!
PLUS - I get that valet setting where I can raise it all the way up and not worry about that expensive CSL bumper!
Thanks for the nice words!
Brad

MCoupe434 09-26-2005, 10:58 PM Simply gorgeous!
Kevlar 09-26-2005, 11:08 PM is it true that the system with a compete laptop and user is much more variable than the typical settings that are provided?
I have settings on my car now that I feel are perfect for my for daily driving... well, ride height anyways, it's a bit stiff for daily driving sometimes, but the ride height is perfect.
Then, the other settings could be adjusted as necessary for those overly large speed bumps or for those dedicated track days.
I know the system already comes with some presets, but never being one to stick with "average" or "good enough" ... how customizable is it to my preferences and the weight of my individual car? I hear that it automatically corner balances no matter what weight you have added/removed for your specific car... true?
m3j0n 09-27-2005, 12:29 AM ummmm wow.... stage one was quite a large stage :). glad to see our money going to good use :). brad, why are you switching fromt eh borla to the magnaflow?

Valet setting! All M3's NEED a Valet setting button! :buttrock
Chuck 09-27-2005, 07:56 AM Brad, any chance you could get some decent sound files with the Borla and the Magnaflow on your headers? My car has the AA muffler on it, which sound great with headers, but I'm always open to other choices.
m3j0n 09-27-2005, 08:19 AM chuck, you installed the headers alreadY? did you post a thread about the install?
Chuck 09-27-2005, 08:22 AM No... I was referring to the AA backed up by euro headers. Believe me, when I get the Evosport headers in, it'll be posted here in neon lights. :D
EMPWRD 09-27-2005, 09:47 AM Chuck... Wat r u doing with the euro headers??? I might be interested if the price is right.. PM me.

LOL Actually this car was built for Bridgestone, so I had some great help. I actually never could afford to build such a car so quickly without help from some really terrific partners (all listed above). :alright
I do not like the Borla. I don't like the bends or the sound. We also don't sell it (see above as for why). I am really liking the magnaflow, so we will try it and see the dyno results. We will do with Borla and Maganflow just for giggles!
Valet setting! All M3's NEED a Valet setting button! :buttrock
AGREE 100%. The middle setting is the wife mode too - which is great!

Will do. :D
Thanks ALL!

You don't even need a laptop (in fact no way to connect). The Praxis comupter is configurable with a button and a switch. Takes about an hour, but pretty easy. You can set it however you would like (which is what I did).
I will tell you at a lowered height, this is such a great suspension. Not harsh really at all. Feels really good. Feels like a 360 actually.
Yea, it will auto-level. Not corner balance as much, but it is REALLY easy to corner balance it with this suspension. So if you add people or gear, it will adjust the car to the ride height you programmed in (regardless of how much wieght you add). This is so cool, as you never have rear rubbing issues or headlights aimed to the sky again!
The shocks are like 18 way adjustable and built at H&R for Praxis. The bags are firestone, which are the best in the biz. Great parts into the system.
The initial settings were actually dialed in at the 'Ring - so it has some real pedegree.
I was a disbeliever, but have seen the light!
Very cool system - kudos to Bridgestone, Praxis and H&R.
Thanks,
Brad
Chuck 09-27-2005, 06:58 PM Chuck... Wat r u doing with the euro headers??? I might be interested if the price is right.. PM me.
Too late bro.. they went early in the summer, cats and all. I was going to put them in the new car but I decided to wait and see what parts were on the horizon. The nice part is I saved all the gaskets and nuts that were supposed to go in that project, so I'm ready to go. All I need is the time. Like I've told other folks who are aching to see my review, if my 408 motor is ready to be installed this weekend, it takes precedence. I'd like a chance to ride out in a 600hp vehicle for a little bit. :D
sirtiger 09-27-2005, 09:04 PM nice setup... not crazy about the hood tho.... like shark gills
m3j0n 09-28-2005, 01:29 AM We also don't sell it (see above as for why).
where>? why/.? i thought you loved the borla.
Kevlar 09-29-2005, 02:25 PM Brad, when you get a chance... can you indulge us and take a side profile shot with the system in it's three different height modes?
The fact that it automatically levels the car based on weight is really appealing, especially since I'm known to use my car mostly just for me as a single driver, but occasionally there are four people and associated luggage in it.

jdholder 09-30-2005, 01:07 AM Well thats cool!! Brad - you shoulda never let me drive that thing yesterday!! Wanna trade for a nice 5 Series? I think you may know the previous owner!! ;)
p()()p 09-30-2005, 08:55 PM how much did that entire suspension setup cost?
where can i find it :)
Kevlar 10-09-2005, 12:13 PM Hey Brad... another question for you. Can you take a picture of what the trunk looks like with all the additional equipment they had to put in there (i.e. the compressor & air tank)?
I'm curious just how big those items are and where they get mounted. Plus is this something that Bridgestone plans on expanding into the entire car market or will this die off shortly (and no support be available into the future)? Ya, that's a hard question to answer, but I'm just curious if you know their standpoint on longevity of the system...
AutoRyu 10-09-2005, 01:27 PM That car is absolutely beautiful.

Yea, like an ex-girlfriend, you can never go back! I loved that 5-series, but I am in lust with the M3! :evil2

$2895 parts + install for the praxis. Did you also mean the other bits too?

I will later this week. The car is not here right now. The tank is pretty small, and the other components fit under the false floor.
They are releasing one or two a year. There should be support for a long time. Of ocurse I cannot guarantee that, but that is my feeling.
That car is absolutely beautiful.
THANKS!!:redspot

Chuck 10-10-2005, 07:36 PM A few questions Brad.
1. Does the system remain active while you're driving it? IOW, does it attempt to level the car as you're taking turns, riding bumps, etc?
2. Do you know if there'd be a way to tune the suspension for drag racing? I know its not a big thing in the M3 world, but it would be nice to add a fourth setting that would change the front dampers to a 90/10 split.
3. Will it be available through Evosport or do I have to contact Praxis?
4. How hard is it to align after the install? Will I have to pray my shop doesn't screw the thing up?
5. Any chance the whole tank and related stuff could fit in the "storage well" at the rear right of the engine compartment?

1. No, it will not be "active" in that sense.
2. The suspension is VERY adjustable, so you could dial it in for almost any use. No 4th setting, just three, but you can set them up as you want.
3. We do have it available.
4. It is really easy to align. Good alignment shops can handle it easily.
5. The tank will not fit there. I will get some pics hopefully tomorrow.
Thanks
Brad

Kevlar 12-13-2005, 04:14 PM Hey Brad,
Did you ever get a chance to take a photography of the trunk so we can see how the praxis stuff is installed back there?
