So I have a car that is going to get repainted, I decided that I would see how serious of a scratch I could take out with just a PC and some SSR 2.5. Here is a before picture of the scratch I put in the hood with a pair of pliers (cringe :scared: )

Here is an after, when I took the picture at the same angle it didnt come out right so I had to take a different angle.

It came out alright, an autopian would spot the area after looking closely but the average person wouldnt see it. I used SSR 2.5 with a yellow cutting pad on speed 6 with about 10-15 pounds of pressure :shocked . When I decided it wasnt going to get much better I stopped, the hood was almost burning to the touch. I wonder how much clear is left :confused:

After looking at the swirls, I decided to practice taking them out. Here is a nice before picture

what did you use after the 2.5? just jump to 1 or did 2 and 1? what did you put ontop?

yeah burning through clear can blow. before i really read into detailing I was given terrible advice from somebody to use heavy cut meg's product with a cutting pad on my car to fix my swirls. now i have 2 spots the size of quarters with no clear and that means the rest is barely there. so now all i can do is wax untill i buy a new car :(
